On the evening of May 6, the leader of the Department of Health of Nam Dinh province confirmed that at Nam Dinh General Hospital, a family member had just punched a medical staff member repeatedly in the face, causing a stir.

Recently, a short clip appeared on social media recording the image of a patient's family member assaulting a medical staff member.

According to the clip, a man in a black shirt punched the medical staff member repeatedly in the head and face.

Faced with the attack, the man in the white coat could only cover his face and endure the pain, not fighting back. While the incident was happening, other medical staff were still trying to treat the patient.

The incident only stopped when an elderly woman standing nearby intervened.

Accordingly, the incident was determined to have occurred at nearly 8:00 a.m. on May 4, at the intensive care unit of Nam Dinh General Hospital. The person beaten was a nurse at the hospital's general surgery department.

Regarding this incident, on the evening of May 6, the Department of Health confirmed that the incident occurred at Nam Dinh General Hospital. After the incident, the police were also present to work with those involved.

Previously, at the end of April, a nurse in Phu Tho was kicked in the stomach by a patient’s family while he and his team were treating a child in anaphylactic shock. Two consecutive assaults on medical staff are causing outrage in the medical community.
