Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant reaches 100 billion kWh milestone

On February 23, information from Electricity Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) said that Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company, a key unit of EVNGENCO1 located at Duyen Hai Power Center (Dan Thanh Commune, Duyen Hai Town, Tra Vinh) has just reached the milestone of electricity production of 100 billion kWh. This is a particularly important milestone for the company after more than 9 years of establishment, thereby actively contributing to the task of supplying electricity to serve socio-economic development and ensuring national energy security.

Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company is assigned to manage and operate Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant, Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant and Duyen Hai Power Center seaport.

Also according to EVNGENCO1, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company was assigned by the corporation to manage and operate Duyen Hai 1 and Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plants with a total designed capacity of 2,490 MW and the Duyen Hai Power Center seaport that can receive coal ships with a capacity of up to 30,000 tons. In addition, this unit was also assigned by EVN to operate the expanded Duyen Hai 3 Plant at Duyen Hai Power Center, with a designed capacity of 688 MW.

Achieving 100 billion kWh is a special milestone of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company after more than 9 years of establishment.

Currently, with the factories under its management, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company is one of the power generation units with the highest installed capacity in the country, accounting for about 11.39% of the capacity of coal-fired thermal power plants and 3.94% of the capacity of Vietnam's power system.

Since its operation (from 2015 to present), the plants have always maintained safe and continuous electricity production, meeting the operating method of the national power system. With the existing line units, the power generation capacity of the plants can reach more than 20 billion kWh/year.

In addition to the task of electricity production, by 2023, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has also contributed more than 9,871 billion VND to the State budget of Tra Vinh province.
