"Recently, the price of gold has dropped so I planned to buy some gold to save for the future. However, all gold trading stores announced that they no longer sell SJC gold bars, even 9999 plain round gold rings are out of stock. I have been going around since morning and have not been able to buy any gold" - Mr. Hoang shared.
Additionally, at some gold shops on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi), large gold shops such as Bao Tin Minh Chau, Phu Quy... are all in a situation where they no longer have SJC gold bars to sell to customers, only trading in the buying direction.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh (62 years old, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi), a customer who came to buy gold on Tran Thai Tong Street (Hanoi) said: "I went to buy gold at 8am to cool off, but when I went to 3 gold shops, they all said they were out of gold bars and only bought back gold. I asked but the staff replied that they could not set a time to re-import gold for sale."
Ms. Le Phuong Anh (Hanoi), a customer who came to buy gold at Phu Quy gold and silver store (Tran Nhan Tong, Hai Ba Trung district) said: "For the past 2 days, Phu Quy gold has stopped trading SJC gold bars, only selling 9999 plain round rings and buying back gold. I myself am in dire need of gold bars but cannot find any gold store that sells them, and if I go to the bank, I have to waste time and wait in line all day."
Difficult to buy gold from stores, many people flock to gold selling points of banks and Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC Company).
From 8am on June 11, the SJC Company branch located on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) appeared dozens of people waiting outside the door to buy gold. Waiting to buy gold here, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (Cau Giay - Hanoi) - said: "I heard people say that since 12am last night, people have been lining up to get a number to buy gold. But if I just arrived at 9am today, it probably won't be my turn" - Mr. Hung said.
Also waiting to buy gold at this store, Ms. Le Thi Minh Huong (66 years old, Hanoi) said: "At 9:00 a.m., the store staff opened the door and announced that today they would only accept gold sales transactions for the first 31 customers, but now there are 271 people registered to buy gold. I had to wait in line since 7:30 a.m."
