Data from airlines also shows that during the first two days of the holiday (April 28-29), over 41,000 tickets were sold for flights from Hanoi to tourist destinations in the Central region and Phu Quoc.
On April 29th, flights from Ho Chi Minh City to key tourist destinations sold over 40,000 tickets. Due to the high demand for travel during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, leading to ticket shortages and relatively high prices, the Civil Aviation Authority has issued a document requesting domestic airlines to consider increasing flights on routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to other localities. Specifically, airlines are focusing on increasing flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc, Phu Yen , Binh Dinh, Nha Trang, Con Dao, etc. These additional flights will be scheduled for April 28-29 and May 2-3 (before and after the holiday). Just last week, the Civil Aviation Authority held a meeting with airlines and relevant units, and after the meeting, all parties agreed to allocate more slots (take-off/landing times) at Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) during the upcoming peak holiday and summer season. Specifically, during the periods from April 28th to May 3rd, and from June 1st to August 15th, Tan Son Nhat Airport will have an additional 26 slots per day. Correspondingly, airlines will operate more additional flights, ensuring the supply of approximately 5,000 more tickets per day compared to the regular flights currently in operation. The Ministry of Transport has also just issued a directive to relevant units of the ministry and localities on strengthening measures to better serve the travel needs of the people and ensure traffic order and safety during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the April 30th - May 1st holidays (lasting from April 29th to May 3rd).
Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport requested relevant units, especially aviation, road, and railway management agencies, to strengthen inspection and supervision of passenger transport activities; ensure the deployment of additional vehicles to serve the travel needs of the people; control the increase in ticket prices and transport fares to prevent unreasonable price increases, overcrowding, and passenger overloading; and strengthen inspections and handle the situation of illegal vehicles and unauthorized bus stations.
Regarding aviation, the Ministry of Transport also requested relevant units and transport businesses to implement additional solutions to minimize flight delays and cancellations; and to strictly adhere to regulations on the listing, announcement, and public disclosure of ticket prices and fares…
