Airline data also shows that in the first two days of the holiday (April 28-29), flights from Hanoi to tourist destinations in the Central region and Phu Quoc sold over 41,000 tickets.
On April 29, flights from Ho Chi Minh City to key tourist destinations also sold more than 40,000 tickets. Due to the high demand for travel during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, causing air tickets to be scarce and ticket prices to be quite high, the Civil Aviation Authority has just issued a document requesting domestic airlines to consider increasing flights on routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the locality. In particular, airlines focus on increasing flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc, Phu Yen , Binh Dinh, Nha Trang, Con Dao... Additional flights will be added for April 28-29 and May 2-3 (before and after the holiday). Just last week, the Civil Aviation Authority held a meeting with airlines and related units. After the meeting, the parties agreed to arrange additional slots (take-off/landing time frames) at Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) during the upcoming holiday and summer peak season. Specifically, from April 28 to May 3, and from June 1 to August 15, Tan Son Nhat Airport will be supplemented with 26 slots per day. Accordingly, airlines will operate additional flights, ensuring the supply of about 5,000 more tickets per day to the market compared to the regular flights currently in operation. The Ministry of Transport has also just sent a telegram to relevant units of the ministry and localities to strengthen solutions to better serve people's travel needs, ensure traffic order and safety during the Hung Kings' death anniversary and April 30 - May 1 holidays (lasting from April 29 to May 3).
Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport requires relevant units, especially aviation, road and railway management agencies, to strengthen inspection and supervision of passenger transport activities; ensure the arrangement of additional vehicles to serve people's travel needs; control the increase in ticket prices and transportation fees, in order to prevent unreasonable increases in ticket prices, squeezing and stuffing passengers; strengthen inspection and handling of illegal buses and bus stations.
Regarding aviation, the Ministry of Transport also requires relevant units and transport enterprises to have additional solutions to minimize flight delays and cancellations; strictly implement the posting, announcement and publicization of selling prices and ticket prices according to regulations...
