On April 1, the 16th meeting of the Vietnam - Belarus Intergovernmental Committee on economic - trade and scientific - technical cooperation took place in Hanoi.
The two sides reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the 15th Session, assessing advantages and difficulties, opportunities and challenges.
The two sides acknowledged positive progress in cooperation in most traditional and new fields such as construction, healthcare , information and communications...
However, bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus is still not commensurate with the potential and strengths of each side.
Vietnam has proposed many solutions to promote cooperation between the two sides, such as increasing information sharing and policy consultation at all levels to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, as well as flexibly seeking new solutions, thereby contributing to increasing bilateral trade turnover.
The two sides continue to make efforts to facilitate market access for goods, including agricultural products, aquatic products, seafood, dairy products, means of transport, agricultural machinery and equipment, etc.
The two sides support and create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in fairs and exhibitions, explore trade and investment cooperation opportunities, and effectively take advantage of incentives brought about by the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The two sides will study and propose cooperation in new areas where one side has advantages and the other side has needs, such as fundamental industries (processing, manufacturing, mechanics, materials, chemicals, etc.); high-tech and emerging industries and fields (semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, green transformation, circular economy, etc.) to build a modern, green, clean and sustainable industrial sector.
Vietnam also asked Belarus to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses, including Belarusian businessmen of Vietnamese origin, to do business and invest in Belarus.
