According to the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Dong Thap province, at this time, Dong Thap province has basically completed the summer-autumn rice production plan and is actively implementing the 2025 autumn-winter crop. Currently, the whole province has planted 75,738 hectares, reaching 61.5% of the plan. Of which, the rice area at the seedling stage is 15,945 hectares, the tillering stage is 53,349 hectares and the heading stage is 6,444 hectares.
Mr. Le Van Chan, Deputy Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Dong Thap province, said that due to the weather this year, the rain came early and lasted for a long time, increasing the humidity in the air, causing fungal diseases to develop, especially rice blast disease. In particular, during the tillering to heading stage, leaf rollers, stem borers, whiteflies, and onion midges will appear... Therefore, farmers need to proactively respond, regularly check the fields to promptly detect and handle diseases.
As for rice blast disease, when detected, farmers must immediately stop fertilizing, especially nitrogen fertilizer, and proceed with treatment according to the instructions of specialized agencies. Along with that, the Department also requested local authorities to strengthen propaganda, training, and technical support for farmers in early identification and effective prevention of pests to protect crops and achieve high yields.

* In Tay Ninh, up to this point, the 2025 autumn-winter crop has been sown on about 28,909 hectares. The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province said that the department closely monitors and promptly informs about diseases, weather, climate, and hydrology, especially monitoring the development of pests and diseases on crops, promptly notifying on the media so that farmers can proactively produce and effectively prevent them. At the same time, continue to recommend a concentrated and simultaneous rice planting schedule, avoiding planthoppers, and not allowing the emergence of harmful organisms in rice production.
According to Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong Khanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province, the locality continues to pay attention and closely direct the implementation of enhanced science and technology transfer, recommending people to sow and plant according to the crop schedule, regularly visit the fields...
The autumn-winter crop is a short-term but very important crop. If the crop schedule and pests are not well controlled or spontaneous production is not carried out, the risk is high. Therefore, the department is directing localities to synchronously implement technical solutions, production organization and market, especially promoting the role of cooperatives.
By 2025, Tay Ninh province strives to achieve rice output of 3,770,000 tons or more, of which high-quality rice output accounts for 70% of total output.
