Meanwhile, the early southwest monsoon has caused very heavy rain in the South.

Preliminary statistics show that heavy rain and thunderstorms have damaged at least 53 houses, with roofs blown off (42 in Tuyen Quang alone, 11 in Hoa Binh ), and damaged 31 hectares of crops and forestry trees in Tuyen Quang.

Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong experienced localized flooding on many roads. Localities are continuing to review and update damage data.
Meteorological data shows that from the night of May 9 to the morning of May 10, the average rainfall was 40-80mm, with some places exceeding 150-230mm such as Cu Chi (HCMC) 230mm, Son Tay (Ha Tinh) 159mm, La Nga (Dong Nai) 154mm, Do Nhan (Hoa Binh) 152mm, Vinh Phuc (Ha Giang) 141mm.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that this afternoon and tonight, the cold air mass will strengthen, expanding its influence to the entire Northeast, North Central, Northwest regions and spreading to some places in the Central Central region.
From the night of May 10, the Northern and North Central provinces will turn cool, mountainous areas will be cold, the lowest temperature is commonly 20-23 degrees Celsius, high mountainous areas below 18 degrees Celsius, Hanoi in particular fluctuates from 21-23 degrees Celsius.
In the South, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the 2025 rainy season is beginning, so in the next 10 days (May 11 to 20), the salinity intrusion will continue to decrease, with the 4‰ salinity boundary commonly receding to 20-40km.

However, the Mekong Delta is still warned of the risk of level 1 drought and salinity in some areas. People need to proactively store water and closely monitor the next news.
