On the occasion of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (1890 - 2025), Kim Dong Publishing House in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company (FAHASA) organized an exchange program and introduced a special edition of the book "Blue Lotus". This is a typical work of writer Son Tung and is considered the best novel about Uncle Ho's childhood.

The exchange took place on Saturday, June 14 at Fahasa Tan Dinh Bookstore, 387-389 Hai Ba Trung, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with speakers being Master, PhD student Bui Van Nhu and writer Phuong Huyen.

Mr. Bui Van Nhu is a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, author of the book "Uncle Ho - A modest example", the book was awarded the B Prize for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the topic "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in the second phase of 2021 - 2025.

Blue Lotus is a novel by writer Son Tung about Uncle Ho's childhood. Through each page, the work takes readers back to his childhood years with his family, hometown, historical and social context that shaped his personality, patriotism, and his ambition to find a way to save the country.

The work not only depicts the portrait of a great man, a great leader of the nation, but also shows the role of family, homeland, and traditional culture in nurturing Uncle Ho's patriotism, altruism, and great intelligence.

Writer Son Tung is a severely wounded veteran, carrying 14 pieces of war shrapnel. Overcoming his illness, he wrote "Blue Lotus" with all his heart and love for President Ho Chi Minh. He traveled everywhere, met relatives and classmates, those who had contact with Uncle Ho to collect documents, creating a work that is both historically authentic and full of literature and emotion.

In the program, Master Bui Van Nhu and writer Phuong Huyen will join readers to learn more about the profound values ​​of the book “Blue Lotus”, and at the same time explore the journey of searching for documents and the creative work of writer Son Tung to write the work. The exchange program is not only an opportunity to learn about a valuable literary work, but also an opportunity for today’s young generation to understand more about Uncle Ho.

On the same day, at 9:30 a.m. at Trung Nguyen Legend Coffee World, 52 Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, readers will have the opportunity to meet and chat with Professor Tran Van Tho - Doctor of Economics , Honorary Professor at Waseda University (Tokyo, Japan) and economic expert Pham Chi Lan about Professor Tran Van Tho's newly published book "Memories to the Future - Reflections on Culture, Education and the Development Path of Vietnam", published by Omega Plus Books.

Speaker Nguyen The Son graduated from the Painting Department of Hanoi University of Fine Arts, Hanoi University of Foreign Languages ​​and received a Master's degree in Art Photography and Experimental Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts of China (CAFA) in Beijing.

Speaker Pham Minh Quan is an art researcher and translator - Lecturer at the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

He is the editor and co-author of many important monographs, and the translator of many valuable works in the fields of art and cultural anthropology such as: "Viewing Paintings" by Susan Woodford (2023), "The Player" by Johan Huizinga (2023), "Principles of Art History" by Heinrich Wölfflin (2022), "Memoirs of an Art Dealer" by Ambroise Vollard (2022).
