Throughout her creative journey, the human image always occupies a central position. Because for her, humans are the center of life, of all causes and effects, from love, anxiety, dreams and aspirations...
The work “People with Confidences” takes viewers into a deep inner space, where a group of people sit side by side on a bench, each seemingly immersed in their own thoughts. The bowed heads and pensive looks clearly show the burden of thoughts that are not easily expressed.

The characters are drawn in warm tones, creating a strong contrast with the dark background behind, highlighting their presence but at the same time emphasizing the loneliness of each individual. Even though they sit next to each other, there seems to be an invisible distance between them, each with their own world and their own thoughts.
The painting invites viewers to reflect on the hidden corners of the human soul, the secrets that are not always shared. It raises questions about loneliness even when we are in a group, about the invisible burdens that each person must carry in life. This space of waiting is like a moment for people to face themselves, with their deepest thoughts.

With a warmer and more optimistic tone, the work “Shelter from the Storm” depicts a group of people huddled together, seeking shelter and support. The figures in the painting are arranged closer, their postures clearly showing their protection against an invisible threat from the “storm” outside. The brushstrokes still retain the artist’s characteristic strength, but are softer in the bright colors, creating a warm feeling of a safe shelter. The color scheme in the painting is a clear contrast between the dark, chaotic patches of the “storm” and the warm, gentle bright patches of the “shelter”.
The image of people sheltering from the storm together shows solidarity in harsh circumstances. The light surrounding the characters evokes the belief that people can overcome any storm together. As the artist confided, the darker her paintings are, the brighter the light of hope viewers will find.

“My work has no clear limits. It can be a place where viewers can see themselves in their own experiences from the past and present. Or it can be a place to provoke questions about their intimate relationship with humanity,” artist Kim Chi expressed.
Sharing at the opening ceremony, Dr. Ma Thanh Cao (former Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum) said that she had followed Kim Chi when she was still in Vietnam and was very moved by her maturity in painting: “During her years in France, Kim Chi wandered around famous museums to reflect on herself and study to perfect her techniques and colors. Her perspective on life is also quite unique. Instead of mentioning the splendor of France, Kim Chi saw there the hidden corners of life, loneliness and desolation. Looking at Kim Chi's paintings, people can understand the loneliness of a Vietnamese person in a foreign land, even though she has a family here, she still cannot fully integrate.”
Artist Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (born in 1980), a former lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dong Thap University, currently lives and works in France. In 2015, Kim Chi founded the Fine Arts Association La Seine et le Mekong (The Seine and the Mekong). It is a cultural bridge, creating conditions for Vietnamese artists to go to France and French artists to come to Vietnam, helping artists have the opportunity to explore the rich culture of each country. Evidence of the Association's initial success is that 3 exhibitions have been held in both Vietnam and France, with sponsorship from both countries.
