
In his opening speech, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , said that the conference was held in a very special context, when the echoes and severe consequences of the historic floods in the Central Highlands provinces were still there. During those difficult days, the image of journalists working in flood-hit areas, the golden hearts of the Association at all levels, press agencies and colleagues across the country towards their compatriots and journalists in disaster-hit areas truly became a bright spot of the spirit of "mutual love and support".

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Association, he acknowledged and commended the units that have taken practical actions, such as Nhan Dan Newspaper and Vietnam National Energy Industry Group with 10 houses of gratitude; officers and reporters of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio-Television, the Banking Journalists Association and Rural Economics Magazine, along with many other press agencies and Journalists Associations that have actively mobilized, contributed, and supported people and colleagues in flood-affected areas. That is a valuable encouragement to overcome challenges together, stabilize and develop.

He emphasized that the conference is a forum to share good experiences, models of editorial management, content development, digital transformation and solutions to stabilize the psychology, protect the legitimate and legal rights of journalists. At the same time, we will have an objective and comprehensive view of the current situation of press agencies and the Journalists Association at all levels in the process of implementing the merger and consolidation policy; make specific, practical and highly feasible recommendations and solutions to submit to competent authorities for handling, in order to strengthen the organization and perfect specific mechanisms and policies for press agencies and the Association at all levels.

In his welcome speech, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province Ho Van Muoi expressed his thanks to the press team for always accompanying and supporting the locality in the past time and hoped that in the coming time, he would continue to receive the attention and support of the press on the journey of development in the new stage.

He informed about the potentials, strengths and development opportunities of Lam Dong province after the merger. This is the locality with the largest natural area in the country, with 49 ethnic groups living there. In the new development stage, Lam Dong focuses on developing pillars such as high-tech agriculture, deep processing industry and clean energy, tourism and services; developing a system of green, smart and livable coastal and highland urban areas. At the same time, focusing on environmental protection, forest and sea development, preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic groups; promoting administrative procedure reform and creating a favorable and transparent environment to attract investment.

The conference received 22 presentations from experts and journalists, reflecting diversely and multi-dimensionally on journalism activities and editorial management in the new development period.


At the conference, delegates exchanged, discussed, and shared successful experiences and innovative models in journalism and the Association's work after the merger and consolidation; pointed out difficulties and challenges in terms of organization, personnel, finance, and the mindset of journalists.

The conference summarized the content and important highlights and agreed on three main pillars that need to be focused on in the coming time, such as innovation, creativity and digital transformation in journalism activities; improving the quality of the Association's work after merger and consolidation; and promoting professional ethics and social responsibility.

In his closing speech, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that the results and solutions agreed at the conference are an important basis for the Journalists Association at all levels and press agencies to continue to overcome difficulties, firmly move forward, and successfully implement major policies and guidelines of the Party and State.

He believes that with a sense of responsibility and solidarity, the Vietnamese press will continue to promote the glorious tradition of the past 100 years, constantly innovate and create, worthy of being the vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front, contributing to building a professional, humane and modern revolutionary press.
