In the late-year sunshine, the construction of the Trade Union house of Ms. Duong Thi Sau, residing in Lung Kha Na hamlet, Kien Luong commune, began. Ms. Sau was moved: “I am so happy! With the support of 60 million VND to build a house, I have a solid place to live to celebrate Tet”. That joy also spread to Mr. Danh Thanh’s family, residing in Thanh Loi hamlet, Hoa Dien commune, when they received support of 50 million VND to build a house. “My family is poor, if we had to take care of it ourselves, we wouldn’t know when we would be able to build a house. Thanks to the program, my family has a new place to live this Tet. I am so happy, I can’t express it all”, he shared.
Housing support is a highlight in the chain of activities for the 2026 military-civilian Tet. The Fatherland Front, sectors, organizations, agencies, units of the provincial armed forces and local authorities are making efforts to complete 48 houses as planned. The handed-over houses help households stabilize their housing, develop their economy with peace of mind and welcome the new year. Lieutenant Colonel Vuong Thanh Trieu - Deputy Chief of Politics of the Provincial Military Command said: "The sectors, armed forces and local authorities join hands to carry out each part of the work to support the people. We are very happy to see people have new houses, receive gifts, and walk on new bridges."
Along with the house building, the rural transportation system in Hoa Dien has also changed significantly. Kenh 9 Bridge, Kenh Ranh Canal, Kenh Tao Nguon... were built from the military-civilian Tet program to help people travel more conveniently, reduce transportation costs and promote production. Colonel Huynh Van Khoi - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command shared: "The military-civilian Tet program contributes to strengthening the people's hearts, promoting the tradition of patriotism and accompanying the locality in building new rural areas. Each project aims to bring practical benefits to the people".
The series of military-civilian Tet activities also lit up many rural roads. In Thanh Loi hamlet, more than 2km of solar lights were installed. People were excited to say that the roads were brighter, traveling at night was safer, and security and order were better. Community health care work was widely deployed. The Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated to examine and provide free medicine to 1,000 people; many volunteer groups performed ultrasounds, measured electrocardiograms, distributed medicine and gave hundreds of gifts. The Provincial Red Cross, the Provincial Association for Supporting Poor Patients, the Provincial Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, and the government, the Fatherland Front , and local organizations presented gifts and scholarships to poor students, visited families with meritorious services, and spread deep affection.
The 2026 Military-Civilian Tet program also aims to provide sustainable livelihoods for the people. The Provincial Farmers' Association has implemented the "High-quality Rice Cultivation" project, with a budget of VND 500 million, supporting 10 members, with the expectation of increasing productivity, increasing value and opening a new direction for local agricultural production.
The 2026 Army-Civilian Tet takes place from June 2025 to February 2026. If the military launch ceremony opens with a lively atmosphere, the closing ceremony scheduled for the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo in 2026 in Hoa Dien commune promises to be a milestone marking the close companionship of the army and people for nearly 8 months. From new bridges, bright roads to loving homes, the program brings a new look to the Hoa Dien countryside. Colonel Huynh Van Khoi affirmed: "The spirit of military-civilian solidarity is the strength that helps us complete all tasks. The Army-Civilian Tet becomes a solid support, connecting the armed forces with the people, for the common goal of an increasingly better life."
