The 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification is a major political and cultural event, attracting special attention from the whole society. In order to promptly, authentically and vividly convey the atmosphere of the celebration to the public, hundreds of reporters and journalists from central and local news agencies and newspapers were present very early at the locations where the celebration took place.
White night with event
More than 700 domestic journalists, reporters, and editors, along with 169 international reporters from many countries, have registered to cover the celebration, parade, and march at the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification in Ho Chi Minh City. Each press agency is a "media army", entering the information battlefield with all their passion and responsibility. Screenwriter Minh Dieu, Ho Chi Minh City Television Film Studio shared: My job was to make a documentary about the security force, so we had to be there very early, almost the earliest crew to be present at Le Duan Avenue at 0:30 on April 30.
Reporters and journalists work enthusiastically and seriously with the desire to bring information as quickly and as close to the public as possible.
Not only do reporters record or take photos, they are also storytellers - recounting touching moments, meaningful speeches, solemn, emotional images of an important holiday. They have to be there very early to choose a good working position, prepare equipment, connect to the transmission line and continuously work in crowded conditions, hot or rainy weather. There are television reporters who have to stand for hours to record live, while newspaper reporters rush to take notes, interview witnesses, guests and people to have hot material for their articles.
Reporter Ha Kieu, working at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Electronic Information Portal, confided: Although I am tired, with everyone's companionship, it is very meaningful. I hope that there will be good journalism works from this event sent to the public and international friends. Reporter Vu Nguyet, working at Tay Ninh Newspaper, said: "I almost stayed up all night with the other brothers and sisters. First, I did not dare to sleep, for fear of oversleeping. Second, I could not sleep either.
As the celebration, parade, and march began, hundreds of cameras simultaneously captured each heroic scene. From the streets to cyberspace, the atmosphere of the parade and march spread strongly, imbued with pride and honor. The power of mainstream media has revived the national epic in everyday life today.
Hard at work
While everyone was still asleep, reporters and journalists were on their way. While millions of people watched every step of the parade, they remained quietly behind the cameras. And when the ceremony ended, they were the last to leave, bringing with them hundreds of hours of footage and thousands of data to continue post-production work. Reporter Huu Thanh, Vietnam Television, affirmed: "After this event, I have matured a lot."
Under the scorching sun or in erratic rain conditions in many places, they still work tirelessly. From choosing camera angles, recording, interviewing historical witnesses to editing, continuously transmitting information on platforms, all require quickness, accuracy and endurance. Many journalists have to stay up all night to complete articles, videos, and reports reflecting the vibrant atmosphere of the holiday. Their enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism have helped millions of viewers and readers feel the majestic and sacred atmosphere of the ceremony, even though they cannot attend in person. Many journalists work quietly behind the scenes, not on air, not having a prominent name, but are important contributors to spreading the message of peace, solidarity and development of the Vietnamese people today.

Their dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm contributed significantly to the overall success of the celebration and are a testament to the indispensable role of revolutionary journalism in the country's political and social life.
In particular, the BPTV team coordinated well with the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City to broadcast live one of the points of the anniversary ceremony and was highly appreciated. Engineer Minh Chi affirmed: The team always tries its best to complete the assigned tasks, meeting the desire to watch the ceremony live of domestic and international audiences.
With just a seat and a good network system, reporters and journalists can process information and send it back to their agency.
Engineer Anh Vu, Deputy Head of Technical Department, Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, commented that the coordination between VTV9 and the BPTV team was very good. The members worked enthusiastically and completed the assigned tasks well.

These stories are written not only with dedication and a burning love for the profession but also with the love of a Vietnamese son.
