Preferential ao dai check-in addresses in Ho Chi Minh City

Some restaurants and tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City respond to the Ao Dai Festival by offering discounts to customers wearing Ao Dai when checking in.

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai" will take place from March 7 to 17 with 14 outstanding activities. On this occasion, many locations responded to the event by offering preferential programs for guests wearing Ao Dai to promote the image of traditional costumes. Visitors to Ho Chi Minh City on this occasion can check in Ao Dai at the following locations:

War Remnants Museum

A museum representative said that visitors wearing Ao Dai to this location will receive a 50% discount on tickets, the program applies from March 7 to 17. Currently, the ticket price to visit this location is 40,000 VND per person. The museum is open to visitors from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day, with no lunch break.

The museum is located on Vo Van Tan Street, District 3, established in 1975, specializing in researching, collecting, preserving and displaying artifacts of crimes and consequences of wars of aggression against Vietnam. The museum preserves more than 20,000 documents, artifacts and films, which are introduced in regular exhibition topics such as: Outdoor weapons, Prison regime, Agent Orange, Historical truths, War crimes.

The museum was once the only Vietnamese location in the top 99 most attractive destinations in the world voted by the luggage-watching app - Stasher. This is the 10th year the museum has responded to the festival, offering discounts for visitors wearing Ao Dai.

Madame Lam Restaurant

In response to the Ao Dai Festival, this restaurant has designed a special check-in corner for visitors wearing traditional costumes. The check-in corner displays a colorful collection of Ao Dai by designer Huy Doan, in an ancient space with the architectural style of Indochina in the 1950s. After the festival, the restaurant also held an event to honor women and Ao Dai on March 22. The party was a collaboration between chef Nhu Cuong and David Thai, serving diners traditional Vietnamese dishes. Guests wore Ao Dai to the party.

Madame Lam was listed in Michelin Selected 2023 and is one of the 10 interesting restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City voted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism .

Renaissance Hotel

Guests visiting the hotel's two restaurants, Viet Kitchen, wearing Ao Dai will receive a 10% discount on their total bill. The hotel is located on Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1, opposite Bach Dang Wharf. The 25-year-old hotel features French Renaissance architecture. The restaurants serve a variety of cuisines, with Viet Kitchen focusing on local flavors and Towa serving traditional Chinese dishes.

Kabin Restaurant

This Japanese restaurant is located on the 28th floor, inside a 5-star hotel on Nam Ky Nam Khoi Nghia Street, District 1. During Ao Dai week, the restaurant offers a discount for customers wearing traditional costumes to enjoy a lunch buffet, priced from 149,000 VND per portion. The program is applied from Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Customers who dine from 6 pm to 10 pm will receive a 50% discount when ordering sashimi, applicable for the first 10 orders.

Lai Restaurant

The restaurant also has a promotion program for customers during the Ao Dai Festival. The restaurant offers a 50% discount on the dim sum menu on Fridays and a 40% discount on Peking duck dishes on Mondays and Tuesdays every week, starting from the first day of the festival. This restaurant is located on the 28th floor of a building on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 1. It is famous for its Chinese dishes and Peking duck dishes.
