On May 13, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, the national treasure of India, will be welcomed from Noi Bai International Airport to Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi . This is an extremely sacred event within the framework of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025.
Specifically, at 3:00 p.m. on May 13, the Buddha's relics will be taken from Noi Bai airport, passing through the following routes: Nhat Tan Bridge - Vo Chi Cong - Dao Tan - Kim Ma - Le Duan - Tran Nhan Tong - Tran Binh Trong - Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace - Quan Su Pagoda.
At 6:00 p.m. the same day, the ceremony of carrying Buddha's relics around Hoan Kiem Lake began.
The procession from Quan Su Pagoda passed through the streets: Ly Thuong Kiet - Hang Bai - Dinh Tien Hoang - Hoan Kiem Lake - Ba Trieu - Ly Thuong Kiet and returned to Quan Su Pagoda.
Buddha's relics will be enshrined on the first floor of Quan Su Pagoda's hall for monks, nuns, Buddhists and people to come and worship.
Worship time from 7am-9:30pm on May 14, 15, 16.
After that, the Buddha's relics will be brought to Tam Chuc Pagoda - Ha Nam province (where the 2019 Vesak Festival was hosted) and then returned to India.
When visiting Buddha's relics at Quan Su Pagoda, Buddhists need to pay attention to complying with the regulations to protect the sacred and solemn atmosphere of the event.
The organizers do not collect any fees and do not accept wreaths or offerings from Buddhists. In particular, the offering ceremony will not take place at the place where the relics are enshrined.
All Buddhists must line up in order, move in turn, remain absolutely silent, and not take photos or film in the area where the relics are enshrined.
Children under 2 years old and those not properly dressed will not be admitted to the relic site. Elderly, disabled or medically challenged Buddhists will be given priority to move in separate lanes, as directed by the Organizing Committee.
In addition, Buddhists and people do not need to register before participating in the pilgrimage. If traveling by personal vehicle, please park at the main gate of Thong Nhat Park (Tran Nhan Tong Street).
