2. Proactively, regularly and continuously update weather, climate and hydrological information when traveling on inland waterways.
3. Check the technical safety of vehicles, safety equipment of vehicles, ensure vehicle load capacity, proactively respond to situations in a timely manner to bad weather phenomena.
4. Equip communication equipment, update hotlines for search and rescue agencies.
5. Comply with permitted traffic flows, routes, and itineraries, learn the characteristics of the flows and routes to know how to control the vehicle safely.
6. Update and research suitable locations and storm shelters, anchor boats close together to form a safe "wall" to block the wind.

In particular, traffic participants need to pay attention when traveling through areas with bridges, culverts, areas with whirlpools, landslides, intersections, crossroads, canals connecting canals to the sea and flood gates. These are places where strong suction forces often appear, which is very dangerous for boats. Therefore, when passing through these areas, vehicles need to apply safety control measures, especially during low tide. At the same time, vehicles are advised to limit or avoid participating in waterway traffic in stormy conditions to ensure safety.
