Summer without books
Basketball lessons on Monday and Friday afternoons led by coach Gian Nguyen Phuong Nam (Italy Sport Basketball Center) always have a special meaning. During the summer, the number of students increases as many parents want their children to have a playground to exercise and reduce stress from studying.

The class is part of the “Love Class” project initiated by the Italy Sport Basketball Center, which has been operating steadily for the past 5 years. The participants are mainly students from difficult circumstances, children at the SOS Children’s Village and nearly 10 children with developmental disorders (autism syndrome).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - parent of D.H. is one of the first parents of this class. She shared that thanks to learning basketball early, her child is happier, less hyperactive, has better health, and is less obese.
Currently, the Italy Sport Basketball Center is meeting the needs of more than 1,000 students with 12 facilities in localities such as Vinh City, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Cua Lo. In addition to free classes or tuition support for special subjects, the center also expands the teaching scale to create conditions for all students to participate.

In the past, many parents prioritized giving their children more cultural knowledge. But now, the trend has changed: Summer vacation is an opportunity for children to have fun, learn talents and sports .
Basketball is an effective physical training sport with few injuries. At the same time, it also helps students develop team spirit, discipline and civilized play.

Since mid-May, Thuong Thuong Arts Center has also recorded a large number of students registering for summer courses. In addition to traditional subjects such as piano, vocal music, dance, MC, modern dance, magic... music appreciation classes for children under 6 years old are receiving much attention.
Teacher Nguyen Ngoc Thuong Thuong - in charge of the center said: "Music appreciation class is an ideal choice for children who are not old enough to learn musical instruments. Through movement, games, and music, children can acquire knowledge more naturally. In particular, parents participating in the class makes children feel safer, more connected, and happier."
Create a healthy playground
At the Vietnamese-German Children's Cultural House, this summer, dozens of skill and talent classes are opened with tuition fees ranging from 700,000 to over 1 million VND/course. A variety of subjects such as folk dance, guitar, dancing, life skills... attract a large number of students from elementary to high school to participate.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Ha - Director of the Vietnam - Germany Cultural House said: "This year, we have opened more folk dance classes and life skills classes to help equip students with the skills to get acquainted, create connections, build trust in class, know how to respect and listen. The teachers participating in the teaching are all people with many years of practical experience in schools, so they will understand and be close to the psychology of school age."

At high school age, many students choose art-oriented subjects such as guitar and dancing with the desire to equip themselves with additional skills to suit the trends of young people.
Guitar teacher Le Nguyen Thang said: “Many students learn to play the guitar to develop their passion for art, but some simply want to be more confident in front of a crowd. Although their goals are different, parents all have the same desire: for their children to live in a healthy environment, away from electronic devices and negative habits during the summer.”

Equip safety skills
Early summer, Dien Ngoc Primary and Secondary School (Dien Chau) opened swimming classes at the newly built swimming pool following the socialized model. Teachers not only teach but also provide free support to students in difficult circumstances.
Teacher Ho Dinh Dien - teacher at Dien Ngoc Secondary School said: "Our area is close to rivers and the sea, so the risk of drowning is very high. In recent years, thanks to the province's project classes, many students in the area have learned to swim. However, there are still many students who have not been taught properly."
With today's swimming classes, children can master a simple swimming skill in just 15 sessions. In addition, they will be equipped with "survival swimming" skills to help them develop safety skills in the water environment, keep their bodies safe in underwater emergencies and maintain the best possible swimming time.

Besides Dien Ngoc, many communes such as Minh Chau, Tho Loc, Dien Hai, Dien Hong... are also implementing free or low-cost swimming class models thanks to socialized resources and support from philanthropists.

In Nghi Trung commune (Nghi Loc), the swimming class organized by the Commune Youth Union in coordination with Nghi Trung Secondary School has started enrolling students since the beginning of May. This is also the first unit in the district to build a modern standard swimming pool using socialized resources.
Mr. Le Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Commune Youth Union said: "We aim to popularize swimming for all students and equip them with skills to prevent drowning. At the same time, we are stepping up propaganda to raise awareness among parents and not be subjective when children play in the water."
Responding to the Action Month for Children 2025, Nghe An province and 20 districts, cities and towns across the province signed a commitment to implement the campaign "Safe Summer for Children". The content focuses on preventing injuries and drowning, checking unsafe places, handing over students to their families during the summer and calling for resources to support children in difficult circumstances.
