The film "Saigon Special Forces" released in 1986 by director Long Van tells the story of the outstanding battle of the Saigon Special Forces during the Tet Offensive and the resistance war against the US of the liberation army in South Vietnam.

With 4 episodes “Reunion Point”, “Quiet”, “Storm” and “Return My Name”, “Saigon Special Forces” delves into the intense battles of intelligence between intelligence officers in the city of Saigon in the 1960s. The most prominent of these are “intelligence chief” Tu Chung, Commander of the Saigon Special Forces, codename F8, and intelligence officer Ngoc Mai, codename Z20, who fought side by side under the guise of a married couple managing the Dong A Paint Company. Another officer, Huyen Trang, pretended to be a nun in a temple to ensure the intelligence operations of the team, blinding the enemy.

Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan was born in 1951, she has been widely known on the Vietnamese small screen since the 1980s. In the Cine7 program, she said that in 1984, during a business trip to Ho Chi Minh City, she met the art designer Trinh Thai of the film "Saigon Special Forces". The artist said that the film crew had been filming for a year but had not yet found an actress to play the role of nun Huyen Trang. Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan proactively asked for the script and a fateful meeting with director Long Van helped her get the classic role of nun Huyen Trang.

To transform into the role of nun Huyen Trang as well as soldier Huyen Trang of the Saigon Special Forces, Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan had to research the character thoroughly. From having to go to Duoc Su Pagoda for a week to eat vegetarian food and practice chanting, beating wooden fish, ringing bells, and begging for alms to resemble a monk, to applying the shooting skills of a soldier in real life to bring into the fighting scenes in the film. Her own experiences helped Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan complete the role of nun Huyen Trang completely, leaving an indelible mark in the hearts of many generations of audiences.

The program arranged a surprise meeting between Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan and screenwriter Trinh Thanh Nha, wife of the late writer Le Phuong - screenwriter of the film "Saigon Special Forces". Screenwriter Trinh Thanh Nha brought photos of the crew taken during the filming process, recalling memories of a difficult time but with many beautiful memories in his career. Besides that, there are interesting behind-the-scenes stories...
