"Hello, principal!" - the crisp greeting of students every morning at the gate of Chu Van An Primary School has become a familiar, simple thing that teacher Thieu Thi Thu always cherishes. For her, it is a daily reminder of the responsibility and trust that students, colleagues, and parents place in her.

Born in Thanh Hoa, graduated from Thanh Hoa Pedagogical High School in 1992, teacher Thieu Thi Thu had 5 years of teaching experience in her hometown. In 1997, she transferred to Dam Rong to teach and after only one year, she was appointed as Vice Principal, then Principal at schools in the district. In January 2011, she was transferred to become Principal of Da K'nang Primary School. She shared that the 10 years there were 10 years that she and the teachers persistently improved school standards, shortening the gap in access to education between disadvantaged areas and other areas. From those efforts, in the period 2014 - 2020, the school continuously received the title of Excellent Labor Collective, Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training .

In early 2020, Ms. Thu was transferred to work as Principal of Chu Van An Primary School, where more than 51% of students are ethnic minorities. Although located in the center of Phi Lieng commune, the school still has many difficulties in terms of facilities, teaching staff and uneven student quality. Without hesitation, she set about consolidating the team, building discipline, promoting innovation in teaching methods and launching emulation movements. Under her leadership, the school has gradually created a friendly and effective learning environment. The principle of "Democracy - Discipline - Love - Responsibility" has always been the guiding principle in management and operation, helping Chu Van An Primary School gradually affirm its position as one of the typicaleducational institutions of Dam Rong district.

In her role as Party Cell Secretary, Ms. Thu pays special attention to the work of building a clean and strong Party organization. From 2014 to present, the school's Party Cell has continuously achieved the rating of "Completing tasks well" or higher. She believes: "If we want the school to develop sustainably, we must first have a strong Party Cell, with united, high-quality, and exemplary Party members."

As a leader, Ms. Thu always focuses on improving the quality of the teaching staff. Every year, the school organizes an average of 6 professional activities, creating conditions for teachers to learn and innovate teaching methods. Movements such as "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity", "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh" are implemented synchronously, systematically and in depth. Along with that, she maximizes the strengths of each teacher, arouses the spirit of creativity in the young force, and at the same time promotes the exemplary role of key cadres and party members. In particular, she always cares about the material and spiritual life of cadres and teachers, motivating them to work with peace of mind and dedication.

Thanks to its strong organizational foundation and dedicated leadership, the school has maintained the title of Excellent Labor Collective for many years, and has been awarded a Certificate of Merit and an Emulation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee. Students actively participate in competitions and have won many awards at the district and provincial levels. Many teachers have been recognized as excellent teachers and have been honored with noble awards. And above all, the trust and attachment between teachers and parents is increasingly deepening.

With 26 years of management experience, she clearly understands: “To improve the quality of education in ethnic minority areas, it is necessary to have perseverance, love for the profession, the spirit of self-study, self-improvement, and improvement of professional capacity of cadres and teachers. Along with that is the synchronous investment from the State in electricity, roads, schools, stations and close guidance from the Party Committee, government and the education sector. All of these factors create a transformation of education in a land with many difficulties”. After many years of work, Ms. Thu has left her mark with specific results, such as the quality of students is increasingly improved, the teaching staff matures through each school year, and the classrooms are more spacious, green - clean - beautiful every day. “Having been attached to Phi Lieng and Da K'nang for 28 years, I feel that I have a responsibility to try my best to learn every day to contribute to bringing education in remote areas on par with education in favorable areas, bringing innovative management solutions, and improving the quality of teaching and learning at the school,” Ms. Thu shared.

Commenting on Ms. Thu, Mr. Au Van Nghi - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Dam Rong district, said: "Ms. Thu is a person with many years of experience in management, dares to think, dares to do, and is creative in implementing innovative solutions to improve the quality of education. She is especially interested in promoting the capacity of young teachers, making an important contribution to the emulation movement of Good Teaching - Good Learning of the whole industry".

With her silent and persistent efforts over 28 years of dedication to the education career in remote areas, Ms. Thieu Thi Thu was recently honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister. In her journey, she is also the one who "ignites the fire" for generations of teachers, especially young people who are cherishing the choice of "sowing letters" in remote and difficult areas.
