Simacai farmers prepare the land for spring-summer corn planting.

These days, taking advantage of favorable weather, farmers in the Si Ma Cai highlands are concentrating their manpower in the fields to prepare the land for spring-summer corn planting. Up to now, localities in the district have basically completed clearing vegetation, preparing the land, and planting spring-summer corn according to plan.

For the planted area, to ensure good growth and development of corn, the district's Department of Agriculture directs communes and towns to regularly monitor the fields; instruct people on techniques for care, weeding, and fertilization.

In 2025, Simacai district plans to plant 4,800 hectares of corn, divided into 2 crops per year. The district People's Committee has developed a production plan, assigned specific targets to each commune to implement; urged agencies, units, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Agricultural Service Center to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes to direct people to ensure the crop schedule; propagate and mobilize people to plant key corn varieties such as: NK 6101, 6275, 7328; CP511, CP111; LVN10, LVN885... to ensure high productivity and output.
