In order for the Movement to bring practical results, every year, the District Farmers' Association (HND) has closely followed the production support policies according to the Agricultural Restructuring Project and the key economic development program of the district, creating conditions for farmers to develop and expand the scale of valuable crops and livestock, suitable for the conditions of concentrated specialized commodity production such as: in the North with the communes of Thanh Thinh, Bao Dap, Tan Dong, focusing on growing mulberry and raising silkworms, combined with the production of high-quality rice and corn; the left bank of the Red River including Y Can, Quy Mong, Kien Thanh growing Bat Do bamboo shoots, combined with raising livestock and poultry; the lower part of the district including the communes of Van Hoi, Viet Hong, Viet Cuong focusing on growing high-quality tea and aquaculture...
To improve knowledge of cultivation and animal husbandry for members, every year, the Association has coordinated with the District Agricultural Support Service Center to open from 160 to 180 training courses on transferring science and technology to nearly 15,000 members on techniques for caring for and preventing pests and diseases in rice and vegetables, preventing diseases for livestock and poultry, techniques for planting and caring for safe tea according to VietGAP standards; coordinated with functional agencies of the province and district to open vocational training courses on silkworm cocoon processing in the communes of Hoa Cuong and Thanh Thinh; processing Bat Do bamboo shoots in Kien Thanh commune and farm management and development in Hung Thinh commune...
Signed with the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office, through 76 savings and loan groups, creating conditions for 2,827 households to borrow capital with an amount of over 166 billion VND; through the District Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, through 42 loan groups, creating conditions for 1,328 households to borrow capital with an amount of over 223 billion VND; signed with Apatit Vietnam One Member Co., Ltd., supplying over 450 tons of fertilizer/year with deferred payment to farmers.
The Association also effectively deployed farmer support funds including: The Central Association Fund with 1 billion 850 million VND to implement projects of raising buffaloes and cows for breeding in Hung Thinh commune, growing mulberry to raise silkworms in Thanh Thinh commune, raising poultry in Cuong Thinh commune; The Provincial Farmers Support Fund with 1 billion 500 million VND, implementing projects of growing mulberry to raise silkworms in Bao Dap commune, planting and caring for Bat Do bamboo shoots in Hong Ca commune, raising buffaloes and cows for breeding in Hung Khanh commune; The District Farmers Support Fund with 1 billion 530 million VND to implement projects: raising deer for velvet and breeding deer in Minh Quan commune, building a nursery for Khôi nhung seedlings in Cuong Thinh commune, growing medicinal plants in Bao Dap commune, raising commercial snails combined with eco-tourism in Van Hoi commune...
Ms. Le Thi Lua - Chairman of the District Farmers' Association said: "In the field of agricultural and forestry production, the Association, together with mass organizations and local authorities, mobilized members and people to cultivate 2,215 hectares of hybrid rice and pure rice per year, with a rice output of over 15,620 tons; develop the mulberry area of the whole district to over 1,016 hectares, with a cocoon output of 915 tons per year; continue to care for 600 hectares of tea, with an output of 2,800 tons per year; plant an average of 400 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots per year, bringing the total area to over 4,616 hectares; increase the cinnamon growing area to 4,433 hectares, of which nearly 3,000 hectares have been certified as organic cinnamon... From these figures that speak for themselves with the active activities of members at the grassroots level, up to now, the district has 4,869 households producing and trading organically at all levels. Of which, 45 households are at the central level and 45 households at the provincial level. 370 households, 710 at the district level and 3,744 at the grassroots level. The number of households engaged in large-scale livestock farming, small-scale industry, agricultural processing, and service business is 3,613 households; 1,256 households in the field of cultivation, the majority of whom are members of the communes: Thanh Thinh, Bao Dap, Luong Thinh...
In recent years, the mobilization, guidance and support of farmers to participate in developing collective economic forms in agriculture in the district has developed quite strongly. Farmers' Associations at all levels have proactively built linkage models from production to product consumption in the direction of developing collective economy to increase the value of goods. Currently, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the district are maintaining the effective operation of 11 cooperatives, 167 cooperative groups, and 14 professional associations.
Many typical cooperatives and cooperative groups have made many positive contributions to economic growth and socio-economic development of localities, typically: Cooperative of growing medicinal plants in Cuong Thinh commune; Cooperative of Vietnamese cinnamon and anise in Thanh Thinh commune; Cooperative of growing and caring for citrus fruit trees in Hung Thinh commune; Cooperative of growing and raising livestock in Luong Thinh commune; Cooperative of silkworms in Hong Ca commune... Typical cooperatives include: Cooperative of growing mulberry and raising silkworms in Minh Quan commune; Cooperative of producing cinnamon in organic direction in Y Can commune; Cooperative of growing tea in Hung Khanh commune; Cooperative of growing Bat Do bamboo shoots in Viet Cuong commune...
From the models of linkage in production and promoting the Farmers' Movement to compete in production and business, up to now, the district has 165 households with income from 300 million VND to 500 million VND/year; 66 households with income from 500 million VND to 1 billion VND/year and 19 households with income from 1 billion VND to 2 billion VND/year. Typical examples are the families of members: Hoang Anh Tuan, residential group 11, Co Phuc town with a model of raising chickens and salted chicken products, with an income of over 500 million VND/year; Mr. Do Trong Khue, Lao Dong village, Van Hoi commune, with a model of raising soft-shell turtles, with an income of 600 million VND/year; Mr. Nguyen Hong Le, Truc Dinh village, Thanh Thinh commune, mulberry growing and silkworm raising model, income 1.6 billion VND/year... From the production and business models, every year, stable jobs have been created for over 2,000 workers with an average income of 5 to 8 million VND/person/month.
Currently, the Farmers' Movement for Competitive Production and Business in Tran Yen district continues to develop strongly in both quantity and quality, creating a ripple effect in all fields of agricultural, forestry, fishery, and service production, creating a strong change in awareness and thinking, arousing initiative and creativity in economic restructuring, restructuring of crops and livestock towards organic and safe, improving the quality of products with high competitiveness in the market according to VietGAP standards. From here, it contributes to increasing product value and competitiveness in the market and the direction of developing a sustainable agricultural economy.
