In the film "Sweetness Like Smoke" (directed by Hoang Map - Cu Hue ), Trinh Kim Chi plays Mrs. Tam Luong - a widow who decides to remarry. Tam Luong is a poor woman who sells fried bananas to earn money to support her son Thanh (played by Tran Nhat Hao) in his education.

Tragedy frequently befell Mrs. Tam Luong's family when her second husband, instead of working as a motorbike taxi driver, became addicted to alcohol, often getting drunk and picking fights with his wife and children... The most dramatic event occurred when Mrs. Tam Luong's son went missing and fell into a human trafficking ring across the border.
According to director Hoang Map, although he has directed many films, this is the first time he has seen a famous actress go completely makeup-free before filming, like People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi in the role of Mrs. Tam Luong.
"As for acting, with her technique and experience from the 90s, Trinh Kim Chi always completes her scenes the fastest," director Hoang Map emphasized.

Meanwhile, in the TV series "Tea Witch" (directed by Hoang Map and Cu Hue), People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi plays Mrs. Bay Tra, the mother of Hai Giau (Hoang Map) and Cam Loan (Phuong Ngan).
The actress also embodied the role of a widowed woman who was elegant, sophisticated, and charming, quite different from the character of Mrs. Tam Luong.

Mrs. Bay Tra wielded considerable power as the wealthiest tea businesswoman in the region where her family lived.
Because she couldn't accept her daughter being pregnant with a poor man, she resorted to every means to ruin her daughter's relationship and insisted on marrying her off to a wealthy family.

According to the plan, the film "Sweetness Like Smoke" will be broadcast on the SCTV14 - Official Vietnamese Film Channel YouTube channel, exclusively at 8 PM daily, starting from November 2nd.
Meanwhile, the film "Tea Witch" will be broadcast on the Vietnamese film channel SCTV14 at 7:45 PM daily from November 3rd.
