NSRP surpasses 20 million safe man-hours, maintains operating capacity above 110% in Q1 2025

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant aims to supply 2,294,000 tons of petroleum products in the second quarter of 2025.

NSRP has been operating absolutely safely and continuously at high capacity for a long time. The company has developed a team of highly qualified and experienced personnel, maintained a standard and effective management and supervision system, and continuously improved its ability to identify and handle risks in all activities.

Mr. Kazutaka Yamato, General Director of NSRP, shared: “Safety is a core value in all our activities. Achieving 20 million safe man-hours is a proud achievement, reflecting the dedication, discipline and teamwork of all employees of the company. This is not just a number, but also a testament to the safety culture instilled in every action and decision of the business."

Along with the above achievements, NSRP also recorded impressive operational results. With an operating capacity exceeding 110%, the company supplied 1,961,615 tons of petroleum products to the domestic market in the first quarter of 2025 and set a target of 2,294,000 tons in the second quarter, affirming its important role in meeting petroleum demand and ensuring national energy security.

It is estimated that in the first quarter of 2025, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant will contribute about VND 1,830 billion to the Thanh Hoa provincial budget, accounting for 14.5% of the province's total budget revenue.

In order to meet growing market demand and align with national energy goals, NSRP is continuing to expand its operating capacity beyond its original design, enhancing operational flexibility, production efficiency and market responsiveness.

It is known that NSRP's operational success is the result of strategic transformation in recent years, including improving corporate governance, enhancing operational stability and creating long-term sustainable value.

NSRP said it will continue to work closely with the Vietnamese Government , ministries, local authorities, investors and stakeholders on a long-term restructuring and development roadmap to continue promoting operational efficiency and strengthening NSRP's position as an important link in Vietnam's energy industry.

Established in April 2008, NSRP is a strategic joint venture with the participation of major partners including: Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group ( PETROVIETNAM ), Kuwait Petroleum Europe (KPE) of Kuwait, Idemitsu Kosan (IKC) and Mitsui Chemicals (MCI) of Japan, with a total investment of more than 9 billion USD.

The refinery is located in Nghi Son Economic Zone, with a capacity to process 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day, equivalent to 10 million tons of crude oil per year.

NSRP currently supplies about 40% of the domestic petroleum market's demand and is a regional petrochemical exporter.
