At 26 years old, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong (born in 1990) had the honor of joining the Party, marking a significant turning point in her life. When asked, "What motivated you to join the Party?", Ms. Luong shared that although she was born into difficult circumstances, she never thought of it as something to surrender to. She believed that by striving, always doing good things for the community, her life would be brighter.

She has always believed in the Party because she has witnessed firsthand how, thanks to the Party, her village and commune have been transformed. The material and spiritual lives of the people have improved steadily, and Tan Thinh has achieved the status of a new rural area. And she longs to contribute, to be trusted by the Party, so that she can use her youthful energy to build her homeland.

Imbued with the spirit of a Party member, Ms. Luong always strives to excel, spreading positive energy and working with other young workers in the locality to develop the economy using available resources in her hometown, such as building farm and household farm models. Ms. Luong also actively participates in the activities of the Party branch, encouraging disadvantaged families to overcome poverty.

In 2022, with an overwhelming majority of party members' votes, Ms. Luong began serving as the Secretary of the Dong Quang Village Party Branch. In the early days of her new role, Ms. Luong spent many sleepless nights studying Party directives and resolutions, State policies and laws; researching new approaches and successful models from other Party branches in the commune, district, province, or other localities to learn from and creatively apply these best practices to her own branch's direction. Notably, the branch, which had not recruited any new members for many years, successfully recruited one member since Ms. Luong took office, fulfilling the target set by the Commune Party Committee for the Dong Quang Village Party Branch.

“Being trusted by the Party branch, I feel happy and proud. Besides that, there are worries about how to live up to everyone's expectations and make the Party branch stronger. How to get the people to listen, trust, and support me was my biggest concern at that time. I was young, lacking experience and life skills…,” Ms. Luong shared. And the problem gradually found a solution when Ms. Luong identified consensus and unity as the most important factor. For example, when donating land for the village's cultural center, her family voluntarily donated over 1,000 ^square meters of land planted with perennial trees for the village to build the cultural center. Once the land was available, the villagers all wholeheartedly contributed labor and materials to build the cultural center.

During her tenure as Party Branch Secretary and Head of the Front Committee, Ms. Luong consistently strived to gain the support and experience of senior Party members, while also listening to the opinions of Party members and the people, fostering democracy in Party activities to create a collective strength. Regarding the task of leading socio-economic development, the Party branch committee regularly directed village organizations to propagate, mobilize, and guide the people to focus on transforming the structure of crops and livestock towards commercial production to increase economic value. Alongside this, she encouraged the development of construction, service businesses, and employment in companies and enterprises, contributing to increased family income.

Following the district and commune's direction in agricultural development, restructuring crop patterns, and developing strong crops to boost the economy and increase people's income, Ms. Luong proactively led the way and actively encouraged people to expand the area for growing export-quality chili peppers, cucumbers, and ramie. As a result, in 2022, the entire village had 4.5 hectares of cucumbers, 4 hectares of ramie, and 2 hectares of chili peppers, contributing to expanding the raw material growing area for processing and consumption, and increasing the value of agricultural products for the villagers.

Thanks to the proactive leadership of the collective and the individual efforts of Party Branch Secretary Nguyen Thi Luong, over 75% of households in the village now have solid, flat-roofed houses with complete amenities for daily living. The average income of the people reached 48 million VND/person/year by 2022; the poverty rate decreased to 6.7%.

Along with that, environmental sanitation and maintaining the green, clean, and beautiful landscape of the village roads and alleys have always been promoted. People are increasingly voluntarily participating in maintaining a neat and tidy family lifestyle. With the Tay ethnic group accounting for over 80% of the village population, Ms. Luong always cares about and actively encourages people to preserve traditional culture through preserving ethnic costumes, maintaining the Then singing club... as well as practicing a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, and festivals, and participating in the emulation movement to build culturally exemplary families and promote unity among all people in building a cultural life in the residential area...

Commenting on Nguyen Thi Luong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of the Front Committee of Dong Quang village, Comrade Hoang Van Duy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Thinh commune (Chiem Hoa district), said that although she is young and lacks experience, Comrade Luong's will and aspirations have connected the villagers, boldly calling on them to work together to create new projects, contributing to changing the face of the village. Above all, the spirit of daring to think, daring to act, and not being afraid of difficulties and hardships has increasingly built prestige and trust in the hearts of the villagers.

Thanks to her dedicated work, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong has received Certificates of Commendation from the People's Committee of the commune and district for many years for her outstanding achievements in fulfilling political tasks. At the 2023 Excellent Party Branch Secretary Competition recently held in Tan Thinh commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong was honored to win first prize.
