Picking up a diamond worth 550 million VND at Can Tho airport, cleaning staff Vo Thi Thuy Dung reported to the relevant department to return it to the passenger.

Four days ago, after taking flight VN1207 from Hanoi to Can Tho, the female passenger contacted the Lost and Found Department to report the loss of an 8.85 mm diamond, worth about VND550 million, along with related documents. The next day, while cleaning, Ms. Dung, 36 years old, discovered the diamond stuck in the gap of the telescopic bridge that leads passengers from the plane to the ground to enter the terminal. The female cleaning worker immediately reported and handed it over to the Lost and Found Department. After checking the information, this unit notified the female passenger.

Receiving her property back, the female passenger expressed her joy and thanked Ms. Dung and the Can Tho International Airport staff.

On November 21, Can Tho International Airport proposed that the Airport Corporation reward employee Vo Thi Thuy Dung for picking up and returning valuable property to a passenger.

Since the beginning of the year, Can Tho International Airport has had more than 20 staff members pick up and return money and valuables left behind by passengers, with an estimated total value of over VND1.8 billion. In particular, there was a case of a passenger leaving a suitcase containing nearly VND1 billion in the domestic terminal lobby in February.

In Quang Nam , on the afternoon of November 20, Ms. Nguyen Thi Soa was walking on an inter-village road in Tien An commune, Tien Phuoc district when she picked up a brown fabric wallet with green patterns. The wallet contained 26 taels of gold, a 2.5 tael necklace, 87 million VND and many documents under the name of Ngo Thi Nhi, residing in the same commune.

Ms. Soa brought the wallet to Tien An Commune Police to report. The commune police then contacted Ms. Nhi to come and get it back. Ms. Nhi said she took the money to buy poultry feed, and the gold was brought with her when no one was home and accidentally dropped it on the road.

Ms. Soa has two young children, works as a village health worker , and earns a few hundred thousand a month, so life is difficult. "I was shocked when I found the wallet, because it was a big asset. If they lost it, it would be like losing mine, I would regret it," she explained why she quickly reported it.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang, Chairman of Tien An Commune, said that the commune is preparing a file to reward Ms. Soa for her beautiful act of returning property to the person who lost it.
