On the afternoon of May 29, Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee - along with leaders of departments, branches and enterprises visited NTAT - a 6th grade female student of U Minh Thuong Secondary and High School who had both legs severed in a traffic accident on May 27 - and is being treated at Kien Giang Provincial General Hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung encouraged, asked about and hoped that NTAT would recover soon; the family overcame difficulties and tried to take care of T..

At the same time, Mr. Trung requested Kien Giang Provincial General Hospital to pay special attention, focus on medicine and medical supplies to treat T. so that he can recover soon and return home.

"T.'s health is currently stable. For T.'s own good, the doctors at Kien Giang General Hospital have agreed and are completing procedures to transfer him to Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital for better treatment, such as skin grafting and subsequent surgeries...", said Dr. Huynh Minh Tam, deputy head of the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation Surgery at Kien Giang General Hospital.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at around 10:00 a.m. on May 27, Mr. D.TB drove a truck with license plate 68H - 022.XX and collided with the electric bike of NTAT and NTTN - 6th grade students of U Minh Thuong Secondary and High School - on National Highway 63 (a section of the road in Thanh Yen commune, U Minh Thuong district).

The traffic accident left T. seriously injured, with both legs severed. N. suffered a broken arm and was operated on by doctors at Kien Giang General Hospital. N.'s health is stable.

According to a home camera recording the accident, T.'s electric bike started to cross the street to go home. At this time, a truck came from behind and collided.

Local authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
