Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has just announced the 2025 regular university admission method with many notable changes.

Direct admission and priority admission for many subjects

This year, in addition to direct admission according to the regulations of the admission regulations, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has many admission methods.

1. Priority is given to admission according to admission regulations and admission of candidates who are specialized class students (applicable to all majors).

The school considers candidates who meet the conditions according to Clause 4, Article 7, University Admissions and Admissions Regulations of the school.

For preschooleducation and national defense and security education, candidates must take an aptitude test organized by the school and achieve a score of 6.5 or higher.

For admission of candidates who are specialized students, for each major, the school will consider candidates who have graduated from high schools (see list here) with a grade 12 specialized grade ranking of the 2024 - 2025 school year from good or higher, and meet one of the following conditions in order of priority for the right major or related major (list here):

Participate in the national excellent student team or the national science and technology competition team; win first, second, or third prizes in excellent student competitions organized by provincial level or higher; candidates have a foreign language certificate level 4 according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam or higher or equivalent (for foreign language majors according to the list of majors in the right and related majors); have good academic performance in grades 10 and 11.

For preschool education, physical education, and national defense and security education, candidates must take an aptitude test organized by the school and achieve a score of 6.5 or higher.

2. Admission is based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam (applicable to all majors except physical education, preschool education and national defense and security education).

For each major, the school uses a combination of 3 subjects from the 2025 high school graduation exam for admission. Math or literature is required.

Combination of admission and entrance exam

1. Admission using high school academic results combined with specialized competency assessment exams

This admission method applies to pedagogical majors (mathematics, informatics, information technology, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, English, Chinese, French, Russian, technology, natural sciences, geography, history - geography); primary education, special education, civic education, political education, pedagogy, educational management, educational psychology, educational technology; physics, chemistry, literature, geography, Vietnamese studies, psychology, international studies; language majors (English, Chinese, French, Russian, Japanese, Korean); applied biology, tourism, social work, applied mathematics.

For each admission combination, the school chooses to use the main subject corresponding to the major, which is taken from the specialized competency assessment exam; the remaining two subjects in the admission combination are taken from high school study results.

The main subjects for each major are determined according to each admission combination and are announced here.

The admission score is determined by: the total score of the specialized competency assessment test organized by the school in 2024, 2025 or organized by Hanoi Pedagogical University, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in 2025 (converted to a 10-point scale) of the main subject (multiplied by a coefficient of 2), plus the score of the two remaining subjects in the combination, which is the average score of the subject in 6 semesters in high school.

This total score is converted to a 30-point scale and added with priority points for subjects and regions according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and rounded to two decimal places.

2. Admission will be based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam combined with an aptitude test (only applicable to physical education, preschool education, and national defense and security education)

For each major, the school uses the results of the literature or math exam of the 2025 high school graduation exam and 2 aptitude tests organized by the school for admission.

3. Admission is based on the results of specialized competency assessment tests combined with aptitude tests (only applicable to physical education, preschool education and national defense and security education).

For each major, the school uses the results of the specialized aptitude test in math or literature (depending on the admission combination) and 2 aptitude tests organized by the school for admission.
