On November 12, Air Force Regiment 920 (Mui Ne ward, Lam Dong province) under the Air Force Officer School held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the unit's founding.

On November 12, 1975, the Air Defense - Air Force Command issued a Decision to establish the Air Force Officer School, including the 920th Air Force Regiment as a newly established unit under this Decision. Through many airports: Phan Rang, Phu Cat, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, the Regiment organized training and educated many pilots.

By 2024, Air Force Regiment 920 will continue to mobilize forces and vehicles from Cam Ranh airport to perform tasks at Phan Thiet airport . This is a new airport invested in by the Ministry of National Defense to build a modern and basic facility.

In just a short time after changing its station, the Regiment quickly stabilized the situation in all aspects, deployed training on Iak-52 aircraft, and organized reception, conversion, and training on the new T-6C aircraft. This is the world's leading modern training aircraft, used by many countries in training military pilots.

The regiment uses the world's leading modern training aircraft in pilot training.

To meet the school's requirements for training high-quality pilots, the Regiment has constantly innovated, improved training quality and mastered new, modern technical equipment.

Throughout half a century, generations of officers and soldiers of the Regiment have strived in each flight course, overcoming all difficulties and hardships, organizing 54 training courses, with 870 pilot students graduating.

Especially during the training period of students on Iak-52 aircraft, the graduation rate of student courses was significantly increased, quality was maintained, contributing to strengthening the force of air force units and meeting the combat readiness requirements of the Air Defense - Air Force.

In the coming years, the Air Force Officer School will continue to receive investment and construction attention in the direction of being lean, compact, strong, standardized, and modern; the mission of training and educating pilots of the Regiment.

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Do, Commander of Regiment 920, said: The tradition and achievements over the past 50 years will be valuable spiritual assets and assets for officers and soldiers of the Regiment to continue to promote revolutionary heroism, solidarity, self-reliance, overcoming difficulties, and being ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks.

In addition to performing well its political tasks, the Regiment has actively participated in movements and campaigns; done well in mass mobilization work, helping people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods , stabilize their lives; participated in building a strong local political base, contributing to strengthening and tightening the solidarity relationship between the army and the people.
