In the report, the test results of the Institute of Life Sciences (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) showed that in the seawater sample, there was the presence of microalgae (algae species name: Noctiluca scintillans; genus name: Noticula; family name: Noctilucaceae; phylum Dinoflagellata) with a density of 80 cells/ml of seawater.
This is a widely distributed algae, density can change over time but does not produce toxins.

Currently, the sea area in Vung Tau ward no longer has the phenomenon of green sea water. The Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units will continue to monitor and supervise the marine environment in this area in the coming time.

Previously, on October 25, many tourists to Vung Tau were surprised and worried when they saw the sea water in the Back Beach area turning green; so they posted pictures on social media. At this time, the authorities quickly grasped the information and took samples for testing and analysis.
