Officers and staff of Group 92 bring clean water to people in Lien Hiep village, Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district.

Turning on the tap to wash the rice, the clear water mixed with the white rice grains, Ms. Ra Pat Thi Nhung, Lien Hiep village, Lam Dot commune was extremely happy. For every household, especially housewives like Ms. Nhung, being able to use clean water freely is probably the happiest thing. From now on, Ms. Nhung does not have to climb mountains and wade streams more than 2km to the source to carry each can of water.

Also following their mother to wash rice, although the weather was quite cold, Ms. Nhung's children played carefree in the water, water droplets splashing on their faces with innocent smiles.

The rice had been washed, but Ms. Nhung still stood there, hesitant, perhaps because she still did not believe that the day would come when soldiers would bring clean water to every household. For a long time, the family's and everyone's water source had relied on rainy days for storage. During times of little rain, we had to travel more than 2km upstream to carry each can of clean water for use. Because carrying water was hard work, we also used water very sparingly, very hard. Now the water has been brought to our homes, the water flows very strongly, all of us are happy. This Tet, we don't have to carry water for storage, it's less hard work", Ms. Nhung confided.

Mr. Tran Van Toi, Party Cell Secretary, Lien Hiep Hamlet, Lam Dot Commune said: “Lien Hiep Hamlet has 125 households, all of whom are Co Tu ethnic people. People's lives still face many difficulties. Like other localities in the A So Economic Zone, they are heavily affected by dioxin chemicals left over from the war. Therefore, people cannot drill wells to use groundwater and only rely on rainwater and water from the source to get water for daily use. Many families with elderly people and young children have difficulty getting water. Now, Economic Group 92 coordinates with the locality to support water pipes and mobilize working days to build water pipes to bring clean water to the households. People are grateful to Uncle Ho's soldiers.”

To build water pipes for households in Lien Hiep village at a cost-effective price, Military Economic Group 92 made the most of available materials. The construction and installation of water pipes were all carried out by staff, employees and villagers.

The weather in A Luoi at the end of the year was both rainy and cold, but the soldiers' footsteps were still steady, climbing passes, wading streams, crossing many hills and mountains to complete the project early so that people could have clean water to use.

Overcoming high cliffs to re-check the pipelines and joints, Professional Military Major Tran Dinh Dat, Staff, Planning Department, Economic Group 92 shared: People here have economic difficulties and do not have clean water to use, so life is difficult. When the unit and the locality coordinated to bring clean water to the people, our unit's officers and employees did not mind the hardship and effort to complete the project as soon as possible. Because the sooner clean water arrives, the less hardship the people have to endure. During the process of getting water, many people took time off work to join the army. Each person has a hand, each person has a task, in just 3 days, the people of Lien Hiep village had clean water to use.

Like the people of Lien Hiep village, the people of A Dot village, La Tung, Lam Dot commune also still remember the excited moment when clean water came to the village and that joy seems to still be intact because when there is clean water, people's lives are not only less difficult but also cleaner and more civilized.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dang Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of the 92nd Economic Group, said: Implementing the Project to improve the effectiveness of mass mobilization work in the A So Economic Zone in the period of 2023 - 2030 of the 92nd Economic Group, in the past time, the unit has coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to conduct surveys and grasp the difficulties of the people, to support and help. The unit's officers and employees always strive with specific actions, bringing the people what they need. The Party Committee and Command of the 92nd Economic Group regularly coordinate with localities, all levels and sectors to support and help people develop socio-economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty with specific and practical actions. These activities have contributed to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, maintaining political security, social order and safety, and multiplying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people of Hue.
