The leader of the Vietnam Farmers' Association informed that on the evening of October 13, at the Hanoi Opera House, there will be a program to honor the 100 best farmers of 2023, including a shrimp farmer in Tra Vinh with a record revenue of 140 billion VND.

On the morning of October 3, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union held a press conference on the "Proud of Vietnamese Farmers Program" in 2023 with a series of events: Ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers in 2023; commending 63 typical agricultural cooperatives - the first time mobilized and built by the Vietnam Farmers' Union.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Thom, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Head of the Organizing Committee, the Pride of Vietnamese Farmers Program is an annual activity, celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2023) and moving towards welcoming the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (term 2023-2028).
This year's program has 4 main events taking place on October 12 and 13 in Hanoi, with the participation of Party and State leaders.
This is the second consecutive year that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has organized a vote to select 100 outstanding Vietnamese farmers in a year. Ms. Bui Thi Thom added that this is the first year that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has organized a ceremony to honor 63 outstanding agricultural cooperatives nationwide.

Referring in detail to the Ceremony to honor and award titles to 100 outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2023, Mr. Luu Quang Dinh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Viet Newspaper (Today's Countryside) said that the 100 outstanding farmers were selected by the voting council from 250 typical farmers nominated by the Farmers' Associations of provinces and cities, along with experts, scientists, and journalists.

Among the 100 outstanding farmers, there is one farmer who achieved the highest revenue this year, up to 140 billion VND (in 2022, the highest was only 70 billion VND). That is the industrial shrimp farming model of farmer Ngo Van De in Tra Vinh.
However, the outstanding farmers of 2023 were voted in many diverse fields, especially outstanding farmers in ecotourism and developing circular agricultural economic models. Many inventions and innovations of outstanding farmers are very useful, contributing effectively to the production process of farmers.

Many excellent farmers have effective cooperative and production linkage models. Along with good production and business, many excellent farmers have made positive contributions to the movement of building new rural areas and protecting national security.
The ceremony to honor and award the title to 100 outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2023 will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of October 13, broadcast live on Vietnam Television - VTV.
Along with that, the program also has 2 other important events such as: The 8th National Farmers' Forum in 2023 with the theme of Vietnam Farmers' Association participating in collective economic development in agriculture and the Workshop on digital transformation of banking, finance and opportunities for farmers.
