Cars imported into Vietnam exceed 180,000 vehicles, highest ever

(Dan Tri) - From the beginning of the year to November 15, Vietnam imported 180,520 complete cars with a turnover of nearly 4.1 billion USD, setting a new record when far exceeding the level of more than 170,000 cars achieved in previous years (2022 and 2024).

According to newly updated data from the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ), in the first half of November (from November 1 to 15), Vietnam imported 7,627 complete cars of all kinds, with a total turnover of 213.7 million USD.

The group of vehicles with less than 9 seats continued to account for the largest proportion, reaching 5,012 units, equivalent to 105 million USD in turnover. Coming in second was transport vehicles with 1,553 units, with a turnover of 47.8 million USD.

From the beginning of the year to November 15, the number of imported complete cars reached 180,520 units, reaching a total turnover of nearly 4.1 billion USD. This figure surpassed all previous milestones, becoming the highest level ever in a year, far surpassing the record of more than 170,000 vehicles in 2022 and 2024.

The three largest car suppliers to Vietnam are all in Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand and China.

Of which, Indonesia leads in volume with 64,626 vehicles (value of 915.6 million USD, statistics up to the end of October 2025); Thailand reaches 56,862 vehicles, value of 1.13 billion USD. Notably, although China only ranks 3rd in volume (38,957 vehicles), it ranks first in import value, up to 1.29 billion USD.
