Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang holds the position of Chairman of the City People's Council

With 49/49 delegates present in agreement, the City People's Council elected Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the ceremony, the new Chairman of the City People's Council, Ngo Xuan Thang, affirmed that he will always strive, study, and practice; wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly complete his tasks; regularly grasp the actual situation in the locality and grassroots; respect the people, pay attention to the thoughts and aspirations of the people; wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly serve the people; and actively contribute to the construction and development of the city.

Delegates vote to elect Chairman of the City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term

"In response to the requirements and tasks set forth, as for me, with the responsibility as the head of the City People's Council, I respectfully learn from and inherit the achievements and valuable experiences of previous leaders; comply with and implement the leadership of the City Party Committee; promote personal responsibility and the role of the leader, properly perform duties, tasks and powers according to regulations; strive with the City People's Council to promote collective intelligence, solidarity, democracy and responsibility; accompany and support the City People's Committee and other sectors and units to continue to innovate, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of direction, management and operation for the common development of the city", Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang emphasized.

In his new position, Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang hopes to continue receiving the attention, leadership, and assistance of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly , the Government, and central agencies, departments, and branches; the timely leadership of the City Party Committee; the supervision, coordination, and regular support of the City National Assembly Delegation; the attention, sharing, imparting of experience, and encouragement from generations of city leaders.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh presented flowers to congratulate the new Chairman of the City People's Council.

In particular, the support, sharing, solidarity and unanimity of the City People's Council delegates, the Standing Committee and the City People's Council Committees; the coordination of Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations; the companionship and support of voters and people of the city.

Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang expressed his expectation that the city's cadres, civil servants and public employees will continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, effectively implement Directive No. 34 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, promote the spirit of dynamism, creativity, proactively advise, propose, and remove difficulties and obstacles, join hands to build the city, and wholeheartedly serve the people.

Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang delivered a speech accepting the assignment.

According to Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang, regarding the upcoming key tasks, he and the Party Delegation, the People's Council, and the Standing Committee of the City People's Council will focus on concretizing and implementing the new Resolution of the National Assembly on organizing the urban government model and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city, in conjunction with implementing Conclusion No. 79 of the Politburo to continue implementing Resolution No. 43 on building and developing Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

First of all, we will focus on reviewing, carefully preparing, and organizing the 2024 Mid-Year Session of the City People's Council; thereby discussing, debating, and approving important policies and guidelines of the city; implementing voter contact according to the law, synthesizing and resolving voters' opinions and recommendations; especially, analyzing and evaluating the situation and results achieved in the first 6 months of the year, proposing tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year to successfully implement the Resolution of the City Party Committee, the Resolution of the City People's Council in 2024, creating a breakthrough to complete the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 22nd City Party Congress.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang (55 years old), hometown Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang. Mr. Thang has a Master's degree in Development Economics and advanced political theory.

Before holding the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Mr. Ngo Xuan Thang was Chairman of the City Labor Federation and Secretary of Thanh Khe District Party Committee.
