On the morning of November 14, the People's Council of Lao Cai province, term XVI, 2021 - 2026, held the fifth session (special session) to review, discuss and resolve a number of important contents under its authority and personnel work.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council submitted to the People's Council for consideration and approval a resolution to dismiss Mr. Tran Huy Tuan from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, term XVI, 2021 - 2026, because he was mobilized and appointed by the Politburo to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030, to introduce him to be elected to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province for the term 2021 - 2026.

At the same time, the meeting introduced personnel and elected Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, to hold the position of Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for term 2021 - 2026.

With 100% approval from the Provincial People's Council delegates, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province for the 2021-2026 term.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Tuan Anh, promised to make continuous efforts, inherit the achievements and valuable experiences of previous leaders, and to devote all his abilities, intelligence and enthusiasm to join hands with the Party Committee and members of the Provincial People's Committee to seriously and effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Provincial Party Committee and higher levels.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh (50 years old, from Hanoi) is a PhD in economics , majoring in banking and finance; with a high level of political theory.

He was Deputy General Director of Agribank, Director of Finance - Accounting Department and Director of Credit Department of Economic Sectors of the State Bank of Vietnam.

At the end of 2021, Mr. Tuan Anh was approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee and appointed as Deputy Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee and then received the additional task of Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Assembly Party Delegation.

In December 2024, the Central Party Secretariat assigned him to join the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee and was then elected by the Yen Bai Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee.

After merging Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces into the new Lao Cai province (from July 1), Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh held the position of Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee.
