During the past term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Dien Ban town promoted their core political role; chaired and coordinated with member organizations and authorities at the same level to actively innovate the content and methods of operation.
Being flexible and proactive in implementing the Action Program and Resolution of the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the town (term 2019 - 2024) achieved many practical results with 8/8 targets achieved. Some targets on social security; building new rural areas, civilized urban areas; social supervision and criticism; giving opinions on Party building and government building exceeded the set targets.
The Front innovates and improves the effectiveness of information and propaganda work; mobilizes and gathers union members, association members and people of all walks of life to promote democracy and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns. Many new, creative models, good and effective practices are widely replicated. People agree with the Party's policies, the State's and local policies...
The most outstanding work in the past term was the care for the poor. Localities innovated their advocacy methods, organized dialogues with poor households to understand their circumstances and aspirations; encouraged them to change their mindset of waiting and relying on others to be determined to escape poverty; negotiated with member organizations to participate in supporting capital and means of livelihood for poor households to escape poverty sustainably.
By the end of 2023, Dien Ban town has 122/140 residential areas with no poor households (excluding poor households without working capacity). The poverty rate of the whole town has decreased from 1.3% (in 2019 with 745 households) to 0.68% (in 2023 with 420 households); if excluding households without working capacity, the town has 0.058%, equivalent to 36 poor households. Near-poor households have decreased from 1.57% (in 2019 with 901 households) to 0.85% (in 2023 with 528 households).
On the occasion of Lunar New Year every year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town and communes and wards coordinate with the Red Cross and socio-political organizations at the same level to organize many activities of "Repaying gratitude", "Tet for the poor"... Mobilizing thousands of gifts for policy households, poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances. Over the past 5 years, more than 64,000 Tet gifts worth more than 28.3 billion VND have been given away.
At the congress, the number of members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town, term X, was agreed to be 59/62 people (3 members of the structure who are about to retire will be added later) according to the 4-component structure: representatives of member organizations (17 people); representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level (20 people); typical individuals, experts in various fields (20 people); specialized staff of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town (5 people).
The Congress also elected Mr. Phan Ngoc Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Ban town, term IX, to continue holding the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Ban town, term X; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Ban town, term X.
The Congress unanimously elected a delegation to attend the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Nam province (term 2024 - 2029), including 14 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.
