RT reported that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 30 that President Putin is ready to hold high-level direct talks with Ukraine to resolve the conflict.
However, the Russian leader stressed that the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations must first produce results. The Kremlin leader said that the Russian delegation had arrived in Istanbul (Türkiye) to prepare for the next round of direct negotiations with Ukraine, scheduled for June 2.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also confirmed that the Russian delegation was in the Turkish city to present Moscow's memorandum to Ukraine, which outlines the path towards a peaceful solution to the conflict, as well as other ceasefire proposals.
Maria Zakharova noted that the negotiations are expected to take place bilaterally, without the participation of Türkiye or any other intermediary country.
"US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg announced that representatives from Washington, London, Paris and Berlin will be in Istanbul on June 2. We have received this information. However, Moscow does not see any connection between their visit and the Russia-Ukraine negotiations," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
On May 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Moscow's memorandum had been finalized and proposed holding the next round of talks with Kiev on June 2.
Kiev said it had sent the memorandum to Moscow, criticizing the Russian side for not providing a draft proposal before the talks. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected Kiev's request to see the Russian memorandum in advance, calling Kiev's actions "not constructive."
