On the afternoon of November 10, the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel work and to express gratitude to former city leaders who were mobilized and assigned by the Central Government to new work assignments.
At the conference, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Sy Thanh spoke on behalf of Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Duyet, Chief Inspector of the Ministry of National Defense.
Mr. Thanh said that for him personally, although his working time in Hanoi was not long (3 years and 4 months), working and contributing in Hanoi was a great honor, a rich practical school and unforgettable memories.

According to Mr. Thanh, every day working in the capital, he always clearly feels the weight of responsibility before the Party Committee and the people, the close leadership and direction with the special affection of the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary To Lam himself for Hanoi.
He also felt a strong driving force from the spirit of solidarity, will to rise and aspiration for development of the capital.
According to Mr. Thanh, looking back over the past period, with high political determination, drastic, synchronous and creative actions, the city has achieved many important and quite comprehensive results in all fields.
Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that these results are the result of the solidarity, unity, intelligence and dedication of the entire Party Committee, government and people of the capital, including the silent but very great contributions of each cadre, party member, and each collective agency and unit.
"Please allow me to express my respect and sincere thanks to each agency, unit, cadre, party member and people of the capital who have joined hands and united with us throughout the past time," Mr. Thanh said.
He also said that receiving a new assignment at the Central level is an honor and at the same time a heavy responsibility assigned by the Party, State and people.
The Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission affirmed that all of Hanoi's achievements are the crystallization of a thousand-year-old cultural tradition, the mettle and intelligence of Hanoi people, the close direction of the Central Committee, and the solidarity, unity, and determination of the entire Party Committee.
"No matter what position I hold, I always consider Hanoi as a place of special attachment, a beloved home that has given me a lot of affection, support and valuable experiences, a source of motivation, a spiritual support to continue to strive, train, maintain the qualities of a Party member and cadre, and best complete assigned tasks," Mr. Thanh shared.
In his new position, Mr. Thanh said he will always strive to practice and maintain his qualities, ethics, and lifestyle; constantly learn, dedicate himself, innovate, and be creative; and wholeheartedly fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State, and people.
"I will always look towards Hanoi, follow, accompany and be ready to be a bridge, contribute intelligence, experience, mobilize resources, and join hands in the process of building and developing the capital," said the Head of the Central Inspection Commission.
Sharing with the new Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung - who was introduced to be elected as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said that the city's work is "extremely large, extremely difficult", "there are no days off".
Mr. Thanh hopes that the cadres, soldiers and people of the capital will continue to support Hanoi to make important changes, worthy of the trust and expectations of the people, the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary To Lam.
