RT reported that President Trump said his meeting with the Russian leader could still take place, adding that he still wanted to hold a summit with President Putin in Budapest.
"There's always a chance, a very good chance," Mr. Trump said when asked about the possibility of meeting President Putin before talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the White House on November 7.

President Trump did not specifically answer whether the summit with Mr. Putin could take place before the end of the year, but still affirmed that he wanted to meet the Russian President in the Hungarian capital at the appropriate time.
"If possible, I would like the meeting to take place in Budapest," said the White House owner.
Asked about the main obstacle to meeting President Putin, Mr. Trump stated that neither Russia nor Ukraine were ready for peace .
"The basic problem is (they) still don't want to stop (the conflict)," President Trump said, adding that the conflict was causing great damage to both countries.
Russia has repeatedly stated its readiness for peace talks as long as the situation on the ground is examined and the root causes of the conflict are addressed. Moscow has stressed that ending the conflict requires a lasting solution, not a temporary ceasefire.
Prime Minister Orban was more optimistic when talking about the potential (Russia-US) summit. According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, there are still one or two unresolved issues in the US-Russia talks on resolving the Ukraine conflict.
“If these issues are resolved, a peace summit in Budapest could take place in the next few days,” Mr. Orban told reporters en route to Washington on November 6.
