Speaking to Thanh Nien , Mr. Do Manh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Vi District ( Hanoi ) confirmed that the authorities have carried out enforcement of two villas built on forest land in the Dong hill area, in Cuong village and Bon village (Van Hoa commune). "The locality is focusing on directing the content related to the violation. There are 4 more villas in this area," Mr. Hung added.

According to Mr. Chu Manh Huy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Hoa commune, the process of forcibly demolishing the two villas of Mr. NHQ and Mr. NTT on Dong hill on the morning of May 10 was "very difficult". "In terms of security and order, it was favorable, but their construction was too solid. At first, we thought that if we mobilized machinery, we could handle it in just an hour, but the drilling and dismantling took until past noon on May 10 to complete", Mr. Huy said, adding that the estimated cost of dismantling the two constructions was more than 100 million VND.
According to Mr. Huy, currently, based on market prices, each villa is worth about 15 - 17 billion VND. The construction cost of each villa is estimated at several billion VND. The villas have a campus of about 500 - 1,000 m2.
"It is expected that in June or July, the authorities will enforce the remaining four villas. Currently, these four villas are still in use, mainly rented to residents. The enforcement depends on many factors because the owners of the villas are not local, so it is very difficult to contact and meet them," Mr. Huy added.
Current status of a villa after demolition
According to Thanh Nien , 6 villas were found to be in violation and were scattered on the slopes of Dong Hill. After 2 villas were demolished, there were still many pieces of reinforced concrete left on the ground. Of the 4 remaining villas, 1 showed signs of having been uninhabited for a long time, with wild grass growing.
Previously, in March 2019, the Central Inspection Committee held a meeting and concluded the inspection when there were signs of violations with the Standing Committee of the Ba Vi District Party Committee. According to the Central Inspection Committee, the Standing Committee of the Ba Vi District Party Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; loosened leadership, lacked inspection, allowing many violations to occur in personnel work, in land management and use, construction order management, and implementation of projects in the area; and did not strictly comply with the inspection conclusions and directions of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee.

The leaders responsible for the above violations and shortcomings are Mr. Ha Xuan Hung, Secretary of Ba Vi District Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Thanh Van, former Secretary of Ba Vi District Party Committee and Mr. Bach Cong Tien, Chairman of Ba Vi District People's Committee.
Sharing responsibility for the violations of the Standing Committee of Ba Vi District Party Committee and personally responsible for violations in performing assigned duties and tasks are Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Vi District; 2 Vice Chairmen of Ba Vi District Nguyen Van Hai, Nguyen Dinh Dan and Mr. Nguyen The Ha, former Vice Chairman of Ba Vi District.
According to the Central Inspection Commission, the violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee of the Ba Vi District Party Committee during the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 terms and the above individuals were serious, affecting the reputation of the local Party Committee and government, to the point of requiring disciplinary action.
By mid-2022, the People's Committee of Ba Vi District issued many decisions on enforcing remedial measures against individuals involved in illegal construction on Dong Hill.
