On May 24, Ha Nam Provincial Police announced that they had just dismantled a gang of thieves and sellers of stolen property at Tam Chuc Pagoda (Kim Bang town, Ha Nam province) and major tourist and festival areas in neighboring provinces.
Specifically, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police has issued a decision to arrest the detainee in an emergency case, and a decision to temporarily detain 7 people including: Dinh Quoc Huy (born in 1982, residing in village 4, Phu Van commune, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province); Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1976) and Tran Thi Kim Oanh (born in 1973), residing in Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province;
Nguyen Thi Be (born in 1968, residing in Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city); San Thieu Xuan (born in 1960, residing in Quoc Tu Giam ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi city); Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1985, residing in Quang Trung ward, Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province) and Nguyen Duy Phuong (born in 2002, residing in village 9, Thai Binh commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province) to investigate the acts of theft of property and consumption of property obtained by others through crime, at Tam Chuc tourist area on May 17 and 18, 2025 and Bai Dinh tourist area, Ninh Binh province, along with a number of major festivals and football matches in neighboring provinces.
Previously, after receiving reports from people about the loss of property while worshiping Buddha's relics at Tam Chuc Pagoda, the Criminal Police Department and the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police mobilized forces and coordinated with relevant units to quickly clarify and arrest the above group of people, seizing 319 phones of various types, 2 cars, cash and many other objects and properties with a total value of billions of VND.
During the investigation, the police determined that this was a professional, inter-provincial property theft gang with specific roles assigned such as: keeping watch, directly stealing, dispersing and consuming property.
This is the largest theft and sale of stolen property ever busted by Ha Nam Provincial Police. The police have also announced a hotline to receive reports and assist people in recovering lost property. Many people have quickly recovered their lost property with great joy.
