A poor household in Ba Tri district received a provincial monitoring delegation on the use of poverty reduction funds to raise cows and improve income.
Accordingly, the allocation of the state budget expenditure estimate for public service capital to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2025 is estimated at VND 43.75 billion, of which the central budget is VND 39.7 billion; the provincial budget is VND 2.3 billion; and the district budget is VND 1.65 billion.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Finance, the People's Committees of districts, cities and relevant agencies to coordinate implementation, ensuring the use of capital economically, effectively and in accordance with current regulations.
It is known that the results of the investigation and screening of poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional approach for the period 2021 - 2025 by the end of 2024 showed that the whole province has 17,350 poor and near-poor households, accounting for 4.28%, of which there are 8,298 poor households, accounting for 2.05% and 9,052 near-poor households, accounting for 2.23%. There are 15,274 poor and near-poor households in rural areas, accounting for 88.03%; 2,076 poor and near-poor households in urban areas, accounting for 11.96%.
The district with the highest poverty rate is Ba Tri at 4%; the lowest is Ben Tre City at 0.53%. The whole province has 147 communes, wards and towns with a poverty rate of less than 6% and 1 commune with the highest poverty rate is An Hiep, Ba Tri district at 6.5%.
In 2025, according to the plan, the province will focus on solutions to reduce the province's poverty rate by 0.5 - 1%, equivalent to a reduction of over 2,220 households.
