On December 16th, the Paris Labor Court ruled that PSG had violated contractual obligations and ordered the club to pay Mbappe 60 million euros, including previously unpaid salary and bonuses.
Immediately after the verdict was announced, Mbappe's lawyers stated that their client had been waiting for this result for 18 months. Lawyer Frederique Cassereau affirmed: "Mbappe is very pleased. This is the verdict he has patiently waited for a long time. He and we consider this a complete victory."
Lawyer Pierre-Olivier Sur, another member of the legal team, revealed that Mbappe's side initially requested only around 55 million euros in compensation.
"Tensions increased during the negotiations, but that's exactly the level we expected. And in the end, we achieved it. It was simply a matter of complying with the law," Sur shared.
According to the court ruling, PSG must immediately pay Mbappe, including €55 million in unpaid salary and bonuses, and €6 million for vacation time. At the same time, the court rejected PSG's entire appeal worth €440 million.
The lawsuit not only brought a legal victory for Mbappe, but also served as a strong warning that professional football clubs must strictly adhere to labor laws, regardless of their reputation or financial resources.
