Hundreds of people attended the media launch ceremony in response to World Malaria Day April 25.
Currently, malaria has decreased significantly but has not completely disappeared, the risk of its return still remains. With the theme of this year's World Malaria Day being: "End Malaria - Starting with us: Reinvesting, re-thinking, inspiring action", malaria prevention is not only the task of the health sector, but also the responsibility of the whole society. Every person, every locality needs to be active and proactive in preventing malaria.
At the launching ceremony, Dr. Giang Han Minh, Director of the Institute of Malaria - Parasitology - Entomology of Ho Chi Minh City said: "Of the 20 provinces in the South and Lam Dong, 19 provinces have eliminated malaria, but Binh Phuoc has not yet been eliminated."

Binh Phuoc has a tropical climate, a long border with the Kingdom of Cambodia, and a population scattered in mountainous areas, which is a favorable environment for malaria vectors to develop. In 2024, the province recorded 3 cases of malaria, a decrease of 62.5% compared to 2023. There were no deaths or severe malaria cases. 2/11 districts, towns, and cities have been recognized as malaria-free.
Together with the whole country, Binh Phuoc strives to eliminate malaria by 2030.
