3.5 tons of sugar of unknown origin discovered

(QBĐT) - On April 24, information from the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police said that the unit's road traffic control patrol team had just discovered and temporarily detained a shipment of 3.5 tons of sugar of unknown origin.

Specifically, at 9:30 a.m. on April 24, at Km 687 National Highway 1 in Hong Thuy Commune (Le Thuy), while performing their duties, the road traffic control patrol team under the Traffic Police Department, the Provincial Police stopped a truck with license plate 38H-024.71 driven by Nguyen Van Toan (born in 1999, residing in Cam Ha Commune, Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province) traveling in the South-North direction with suspicious signs. Upon inspection, it was discovered that inside the truck were 70 bags of sugar with foreign writing, total weight 3.5 tons, estimated value of the goods at about 55 million VND.

The vehicle with the same diameter of unknown origin was discovered by the Traffic Police and handed over to Market Management Team No. 7, Quang Binh Market Management Department.

At the time of inspection, driver Nguyen Van Toan could not present any documents proving the legal origin of the goods. The working group made a record of the incident and handed it over to Market Management Team No. 7, Quang Binh Market Management Department for handling in accordance with the law.
