On May 29, Mr. Mai Manh Toan - Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade - said that the unit is reviewing and handling according to regulations the case of seizing 2,000 cosmetic products of unknown origin.
Previously, on May 28, the Mobile E-commerce Market Management Team (under the Dak Lak Provincial Market Management Department) suddenly inspected a cosmetics business (mainly selling through social networking platforms) in Tan Thanh Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City.
Through inspection, the authorities discovered and temporarily seized more than 2,000 cosmetic products of various types of unknown origin.
The owner of the facility could not present any invoices or documents proving the legality of the above goods. It is estimated that the total value of the infringing goods is up to more than 80 million VND.
The inspection team has drawn up a record and temporarily detained all goods for further investigation and handling according to legal regulations.

On the same day, the Digital Market Management Team also discovered and handled a business establishment selling more than 500kg of medicinal herbs of unknown origin without invoices or documents.
Specifically, during a surprise inspection of VT Medicinal Herbs Company Limited (Buon Ma Thuot City), Market Management Team No. 1, Dak Lak Market Management Department discovered that the company was trading in many types of medicinal herbs (mimosa pudica, mint, cot khi, plantain, cho dan, dai anise, huy thiem...) with a total weight of more than 500kg.
However, all of the above medicinal herbs do not have labels clearly showing their origin.
Working with the inspection team, the company owner admitted to purchasing the above goods from a person with unknown name and address and without legal documents.
The authorities have drawn up a record of administrative violations, temporarily detained and sealed all evidence.
Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade Mai Manh Toan said that after completing the merger of the apparatus, the provincial market management force simultaneously launched inspections following the Prime Minister 's direction on preventing counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods.
"This campaign is expected to last until June 15, but Dak Lak will check until June 30 and will not summarize early. We focus on handling items that are easily counterfeited such as cosmetics, milk, pharmaceuticals...", Mr. Toan said.
