At 3:00 p.m. on August 17, at Km32 of the Ho Chi Minh Highway, La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway, the patrol team controlling the Phu Loc Traffic Police Station under the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police, led by Lieutenant Colonel Ho Chi Tuan Anh, discovered a car with license plate 49H-020.41 acting suspiciously, so they asked to stop the car for inspection.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the truck was carrying 600 bags of white sugar, weighing nearly 30 tons, with a total value of about 600 million VND. At the time of inspection, the driver, Pham Tan Tam (born in 1993, residing in Hamlet 4, Hoai Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai Province), could not present any documents proving the origin of the above goods.
The working group has drawn up a record of the incident; handed over the person, evidence and vehicle to the Economic Police Department of Hue City Police to continue investigating and handling according to their authority.
Previously, on August 11, Phu Loc Traffic Police Station also coordinated with the Economic Police Department of Hue City Police to stop and inspect a truck with license plate 81H-03.220 driven by Nguyen Tat Nam (born in 1996, residing in An Hoa La Drang village, Chu Prong commune, Gia Lai province) traveling from South to North. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle was transporting 7 wooden planks and 11 round and cylindrical logs of unknown type and volume. The driver could not provide forest product documents related to the volume of wood being transported on the vehicle.
Currently, the Economic Police Department is coordinating with the Hue City Forest Protection Department to verify and clarify the case for handling according to the provisions of law.
