The first Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long Province in 2024 is a major event of the province, held for the first time, taking place from November 16-23, 2024. Many exciting activities, taking place for the first time in Vinh Long

At the October 2024 press conference, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tin - Head of Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) informed that the Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy of Vinh Long province will take place from November 16-23, 2024 (8 days). Opening at 8:00 p.m. on November 16, 2024 at the brick and ceramic production village of Thay Cai canal, Mang Thit district. Closing at 6:00 p.m. on November 23, 2024 at the central stage of the festival, Vo Van Kiet street, Ward 9, Vinh Long city. The festival activities are implemented according to Plan No. 85 of the Provincial People's Committee. There are 27 activities, including activities in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism (to be organized in the Thay Cai canal area); Activities of the industry, trade and agriculture sectors on green economy (will be organized centrally on Vo Van Kiet Street, Vinh Long City).

Accordingly, the fields of culture, sports and tourism have some outstanding activities such as: exhibition space and experience of brick and ceramic production, typical culture of "Land and people of Vinh Long". In this activity, the story of the craft village and the process of brick and ceramic production will be introduced and explained to delegates and visitors. In addition, there will be activities recreating the space on the wharf and on the boat. It is expected that there will be about 30 boats on the river wharf to transport agricultural products, craft materials... On the shore, there will be about 40 booths of OCOP products, typical products, craft village products, typical local agricultural products...

Along with that, there is also a water puppet show. This is a new activity compared to previous tourism festivals. Another activity that has been quite prominent and attractive recently is the LED kite performance. It is expected that there will be many types of kites of various sizes: 5m, 10m, 15m, over 20m... flying in the sky to serve tourists to visit and admire.

On the other hand, famtrip activities and conferences to evaluate tourism products. These activities and conferences are supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize in the province. Accordingly, 80 travel agencies are invited to Vinh Long to survey tourism products and connect tourism in the coming time. "This is an opportunity to promote craft villages and attract tourist groups to Vinh Long to experience tourism products," said Mr. Tin.

Mr. Tin added that another quite attractive activity is the regional culinary festival; culinary competition, event of processing and performing to set a Vietnamese record of 102 dishes made from tofu skin and served with tofu skin for the first time in Vietnam (with the main ingredient from My Hoa tofu skin, Binh Minh town). This is a quite prominent activity to promote the traditional craft village of My Hoa tofu skin. This is also an activity to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet. The regional culinary festival is not only an opportunity to promote Vinh Long's delicious dishes but also to attract other provinces to introduce their delicious dishes, to have the opportunity to exchange at the event.

In Mang Thit district, a number of bonding activities are also organized in the evenings such as: The 2024 Vinh Long Province Amateur Family Festival and the 2024 Kinh-Hoa-Khmer Youth Singing Festival of Vinh Long Province. In addition, there are amateur music, cultural and artistic performances...

According to Mr. Tin, in the green economic sector, there are many attractive activities such as: Artistic photography exhibition with the theme "Green Environment - Green Life - Green Tourism" at T&T Phuoc Tho Residential Area, Pho Co Dieu Street, Ward 3 (Vinh Long City). Besides, there is also a regional specialty fair in the Mekong Delta region held in Vinh Long. Space to display and experience products in the fields of agriculture, industry and trade as well as tourism in the Vo Van Kiet Street area. In addition, there are a number of other activities such as the "For a green earth" souvenir tree planting activity; cultural space to introduce agricultural products, display farming tools...

In particular, the drone light performance will be performed for the first time in Vinh Long, right on the opening night. It is expected that there will be about 300 drone lights flying in the sky (performing for 10-15 minutes), with typical images of Mang Thit, of Vinh Long homeland.
Mr. Tin added that currently, relevant provincial departments and branches are focusing on implementing the festival organization plan to ensure progress.

Urgent preparation, increased promotion

For many days now, preparations for the festival have been urgently underway. In particular, the works serving the opening ceremony area have been carried out with great focus and the highest sense of responsibility.
The Department of Transport, the Provincial Police, the People's Committee of Vinh Long City, and the People's Committee of Mang Thit District have developed implementation plans to prepare well for the work of guiding, dividing traffic, regulating traffic, arranging stopping areas, parking areas, and keeping vehicles, ensuring security, order, and safety at the opening and closing ceremony locations and at the locations where the activities take place. The road section from Thay Cai Canal Bridge to the opening ceremony location (District Road 34) has been deployed and completed. Regarding the plan to arrange ships and vehicles to pick up and drop off delegates, parking lots, etc., the People's Committee of Mang Thit District has mobilized tourist ships to pick up and drop off delegates; mobilized improved electric cars to put into service, etc.

Checking and reviewing the preparation progress for the festival in Mang Thit district on November 2, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Content and Propaganda Subcommittee, said that the first Vinh Long Red Brick and Ceramic - Green Economy Festival in 2024 is a major event of the province, organized for the first time. Preparation requires the joint efforts of authorities at all levels and businesses to successfully organize the festival. The tasks of each subcommittee have been specifically assigned, including: content-propaganda subcommittee, reception-logistics subcommittee, security and order subcommittee. In general, up to now, the preparation work has basically ensured progress. Based on the assigned tasks, the units have proactively and urgently completed the preparation work in a thoughtful, solemn, safe, and on schedule manner, carefully prepared all related material conditions, and urban embellishment; Arrange forces to ensure security and order, food safety and hygiene, and ensure fire prevention and fighting.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh noted: It is necessary to urgently and proactively carry out the assigned tasks according to Plan No. 85 dated September 19, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the festival. Preparations must be completed before November 12, 2024.
Along with the festival, departments and localities need to focus on and pay attention to implementing response activities, community activities, exhibitions, performances, product introductions, art performances, and culinary competitions to honor the value of traditional craft villages, honor the tofu craft village in Binh Minh, contributing to creating a new and unique festival.
