Representing the meritorious people, Mr. Ma Thanh Son shared that July 27 is always a special milestone in the history of the nation, recalling the years of fighting for independence and freedom. During the years of fighting, he, like other soldiers, devoted everything to the cause of protecting the country, dedicating his entire youth, exchanging love, family and personal dreams to protect peace for future generations.
Mr. Son expressed his appreciation that preferential policies are increasingly being fully implemented, helping to significantly improve the lives of people with meritorious services. On behalf of those with meritorious services, he thanked the City leaders and authorities at all levels for their attention in taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy expressed her deep gratitude to revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
He also informed that in recent years, the City has focused on building, upgrading, and renovating martyr cemeteries and works honoring martyrs; renovating memorials, temples, etc. with a total cost of more than 95 billion VND. From 2021 to present, Ho Chi Minh City has organized the search, collection, and burial of 48 martyrs' remains. Along with that, many war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of those with meritorious services have constantly risen up, becoming shining examples in labor, production, and raising their children to adulthood.
The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee acknowledged and commended collectives, individuals, agencies and units at home and abroad who have actively participated in the movement "Repaying gratitude"; "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution".
According to him, the gratitude movement has always received the attention and participation of the whole society. To promote the achieved results, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested continuing to promote the propaganda of the Party and State's policies and guidelines for people with meritorious services and their relatives; ensuring full implementation of subsidies and incentives on housing, health insurance, education , and nursing. The city will also promptly grasp and resolve legitimate aspirations, contributing to ensuring the rights of people with meritorious services.

“After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City has many challenges and opportunities, but with the efforts and consensus of the entire political system, the support of people with revolutionary contributions and families with revolutionary contributions, it is the driving force for all levels and sectors to focus on building Ho Chi Minh City into an economic, cultural, scientific and technological center of the region and the whole country,” said comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also presented 185 gifts of gratitude to heroic martyrs, exemplary meritorious people, war invalids and policy families.
At the ceremony, Ms. Chau Minh Hien, Head of the Emulation and Reward Committee (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs), announced the decision to posthumously award the honorary title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother to 6 mothers: Phan Thi Lieu, Lam Thi Sang, Nguyen Thi Quyen, Tran Thi Cua, Trinh Thi Tinh and Nguyen Thi Tron . These are mothers who have made many contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland - a beautiful symbol, a sacred pride of the Vietnamese people.
