Promoting the effectiveness of cooperative models in Phu Binh

In recent times, Phu Binh district has implemented many synchronous solutions to improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives. This is a practical direction to develop the collective economy, promote production linkages and product consumption according to the value chain.

Currently, in Phu Binh district, there are 64 cooperatives operating (an increase of 11 units compared to 2022), nearly 90% of which are in the agricultural sector.

In order to improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives, the District People's Committee has directed specialized departments to promote propaganda about the role and benefits of collective economic models through loudspeaker systems, training courses, and specialized seminars.

Thanks to that, people's awareness of the new cooperative model is increasingly enhanced, contributing to creating favorable conditions for the establishment of new cooperatives and the development of existing models.

Every year, the district's professional department coordinates to organize 3-4 training courses for leaders and members of cooperatives. Training content focuses on management skills, production and business planning, financial management, brand development, application of science and technology and digital transformation in production, promotion and consumption of products... This is an important foundation to help cooperatives improve production and business efficiency, gradually adapt to the market mechanism, thereby gradually transforming themselves towards more professionalism and efficiency.

After the training sessions, many cooperatives have boldly innovated management methods, improved operational capacity and promptly approached the digital transformation trend...

Along with training, Phu Binh district also integrates resources to support cooperatives in applying science and technology to production, developing livestock and crop farming according to VietGAP standards, and organic orientation.

From 2024 to present, the District People's Committee has coordinated to implement 9 projects to develop the production of key and strong products with a total budget of over 14 billion VND. Through the projects, many cooperatives have been supported with machinery, equipment, product packaging, biological products, etc.

In addition to state support, local authorities also encourage cooperatives to proactively apply new techniques in planting, raising livestock and processing products, contributing to reducing production costs and increasing economic efficiency.

In order to support cooperatives in building brands and enhancing product value, the District People's Committee also promotes the implementation of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program. Cooperatives are guided to complete production processes, packaging, labels, and product profiles to participate in OCOP evaluation and ranking.

Up to now, Phu Binh has 35 products meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher, of which 30 products are produced and developed by cooperatives.

The district also focuses on trade promotion and product consumption connection. In 2023 and 2024, the District People's Committee coordinated to organize the Program to promote and connect the consumption of Phu Binh hill chicken products and agricultural products of Thai Nguyen province.

In addition, cooperatives are also facilitated to display their products at fairs and trade promotion events inside and outside the province.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the collective economic sector of Phu Binh has made remarkable progress. Currently, 100% of communes in the area have cooperatives operating effectively according to regulations. Of the 64 cooperatives currently operating, 74.41% are classified as fair or good.

The cooperatives have created stable jobs for more than 1,400 local workers. Many units have affirmed their position in the market with typical products bearing local identity such as: Hong Ky Agricultural Service Cooperative with sticky rice sauce and Thau Dau sticky rice; Binh Minh Cooperative with diverse vegetable products; Tan Phu Organic Hill Chicken Cooperative with chicken products; Nga My Cow Farming and Agricultural Production Service Cooperative with cow and pig products.

Mr. Duong Van Duy, Director of Hong Ky Agricultural Service Cooperative, Uc Ky Commune, said: The Cooperative was established in 2020 with 22 members, and at the same time linked with 90 more households in the area to build a VietGAP Thau Dau sticky rice growing area, with a scale of 10 hectares. Up to now, the Cooperative has Thau Dau sticky rice products, Uc Ky soy sauce and Hong Ky sticky rice products achieving 3-star OCOP. On average, each month, we supply the market with 1,000-1,200 liters of soy sauce and more than 20 tons of rice, stably distributed to many stores in and outside the province.

In the coming time, the People's Committee of Phu Binh district will continue to orient and pay attention to developing multi-industry cooperative models; promote comprehensive digital transformation in cooperative activities; strengthen support for market connection, build brands for cooperative products, etc.
