Phu Luong: Nearly 4,800 people were helped through movements

The Phu Luong District Red Cross currently has 9,112 members. In the first 6 months of the year, the Association has successfully implemented the Tet Charity movement, giving 2,687 gifts, with a total value of over 2.5 billion VND to policy families and those in difficult circumstances; attaching humanitarian addresses to 38 families, with a support amount of nearly 120 million VND; connecting with organizations and individuals to support the construction of houses for 15 families, with a total amount of nearly 600 million VND; giving many gifts and scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties...

Leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation activities in Phu Luong district.

In the voluntary blood donation movement, the District Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to receive 562 qualified blood units.

The movements “Helping the poor”, “Charity arms”, “Tet for the poor”, “Raising piggy banks to save”, “Repaying gratitude”… launched by the Red Cross, Youth Union, and the district education sector have helped 4,797 people, worth over 1.2 billion VND.
