Promoting the effectiveness of Workers' Month, contributing to the city's development

Responding to Workers' Month 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering into a new era" and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene with the message "Strengthening assessment, identifying hazards and risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace", the City Labor Federation has implemented many practical and effective activities, focusing on the grassroots level, for the benefit of union members and workers.

Promoting the role of workers in innovation

Workers' Month 2025 is not only an occasion to honor and care for workers but also a time to promote the creative emulation movement, affirming the position of the working class in the new era. The opening ceremony of this series of activities in Da Nang is the launching ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and Workers' Month 2025, jointly organized by the Department of Home Affairs and the City Labor Federation on April 27. Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested departments, branches, localities, units, and enterprises to closely coordinate with trade unions to organize activities well in May. Enterprises need to pay attention to investing in human resource development, sharing achievements with workers to nurture valuable resources, pioneering forces, directly in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. In addition, the team of workers, civil servants, public employees and laborers continue to promote intelligence, initiatives, and emulation in labor and production to successfully complete the tasks of each unit and enterprise; accompany and stick with the Vietnam Trade Union organization, actively contributing to the development of the city.

The city's trade unions at all levels have carried out many practical activities such as visiting and encouraging workers who suffered work-related accidents; organizing the "May Dialogue" program between city leaders and workers, focusing on practical issues such as housing, daycare, loans, and social security. The TV game show "Tan ca Vui - Khoe" season 2 was also organized exclusively for workers, creating a healthy playground, contributing to improving the spirit and health of workers.

In 2025, the City Labor Federation aims to develop 32,000 union members and establish 160 grassroots unions in the non-state sector. These activities aim to build an increasingly strong union organization, expand representation capacity, and protect workers' rights in the context of deep integration and strong digital transformation.

Accompanying, sharing and caring for workers

Along with the key activities for workers, the City Labor Federation has implemented many practical care programs for union members and workers. Specifically, the federation presented 174 gifts with a total cost of 380 million VND; of which 170 gifts worth 2 million VND each were for workers who suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses, and 4 special gifts worth 10 million VND each were for families of union members and workers who died. In addition, 34 "Union Shelters" with a total cost of more than 1.22 billion VND were presented to support union members in difficult housing circumstances, demonstrating the profound role of the Union organization in supporting the lives of workers.

A notable cultural activity is the music night "Young workers - Spreading positive energy" in 2025 organized by the City Labor Federation in coordination with the City Youth Union and the City Youth Union. The event had the participation of many young singers and famous artists, attracting a large number of young workers to attend, creating a playground to connect and improve the spiritual life of workers. The City Labor Federation presented 200 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to workers in difficult circumstances belonging to the High-Tech Park Trade Union, Da Nang Industrial Parks and the Cam Le District Labor Federation. In addition, 10 steam fans were presented to workers' households temporarily staying at the workers' housing area, Hoa Cam Industrial Park to help improve living conditions during the hot season.

Speaking at the 2025 Youth Workers' Festival, Permanent Vice President of the City Labor Federation Le Van Dai emphasized that, with the functions and tasks of the trade union organization to represent, care for, and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, in recent times, the city's trade unions at all levels have implemented many practical activities aimed at the grassroots, directly solving issues of concern to workers. Mr. Le Van Dai affirmed the connecting role of the trade union in coordinating with the government and employers to improve working conditions, increase productivity, income and gradually improve the lives of workers.

Mr. Huynh Van Hau, Vice Chairman of the City Health Sector Trade Union, said that following the direction of the City Labor Federation, during this year's Workers' Month, the trade union organized the 8th sports festival for workers, civil servants, and employees of the city's health sector, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day, and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chinh, a member of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control Trade Union, said: "I am very happy to participate in this sports festival. To achieve the highest results, in addition to practicing hard, the teams need to have smooth coordination among members."

At the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Trade Union, the 2025 Workers’ Creativity and Sports Festival was held with the highlight being the electronics industry’s skilled workers’ competition. Mr. Pham Cong Duc, Chairman of the Foxlink Company Trade Union, shared: “Although my major is mechanical engineering, the union creates conditions for my colleagues to learn and expand their knowledge of electronics. This is a valuable opportunity to help us improve our skills and adapt to the automation process in production.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Do, Vice President of the Cam Le District Labor Federation, informed that through propaganda and mobilization sessions, the district's Labor Unions will provide timely advice and resolve problems regarding policies and regimes for workers at units and enterprises; at the same time, improve legal awareness for workers. During the Workers' Month, the District Labor Federation established 3 new grassroots unions in the non-state sector with 345 members admitted, and at the same time accepted 2 grassroots unions transferred from Thanh Khe district.

Since Workers' Month was officially launched in 2012, the city's trade unions at all levels have gradually made this activity more and more effective, truly becoming a "Labor's New Year" for workers. The series of rich and meaningful activities in Workers' Month 2025 continues to affirm the role and position of trade unions in accompanying, caring for and developing the working class, the core force in the cause of national development. With the support of the Party Committee, the government and the drastic participation of trade unions at all levels, the belief in a generation of dynamic, intelligent and responsible Da Nang workers is increasingly strengthened. The working class continues to play a pioneering role in the innovation process, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Da Nang in the period of international integration and the fourth industrial revolution.
